Dialogue[edit]
- (If character is not a chef)
- I can train you to be a chef, but be warned: it is an advanced art for true world travelers, and it requires more coin and karma than other crafts.
- Please teach me to be a chef.
- What makes this an advanced craft?
- Cooking has many recipes to master. Also, the ingredients come from all over the world and can be expensive.
- Actually, I don't need anything.
- I don't need anything now, actually.
- (If character already has two disciplines)
- You already have the maximum active disciplines, so you'll need to deactivate one first. You won't lose your progress, but reactivating it will cost more than learning a new discipline.
- I'd like to purchase an additional crafting license.
- I'll deactivate <first discipline> and become a chef.
- I'll deactivate <second discipline> and become a chef.
- Never mind. I'm not ready to become a chef.
- (If character is a chef)
- Eating isn't just about survival. Food nourishes the heart and mind just as it does the body.
- I need cooking supplies.
- I have some questions about cooking.
- That's what I'm here for. Ask away.
- How do I cook food?
- Combine up to four ingredients at a cooking station.
- Can I ask you something else?
- Thank you.
- Where can I find ingredients?
- You can buy ingredients from me, from the trading post, or gather them from resource nodes all over the world.
- Can I ask you something else?
- I need cooking supplies
- Thank you.
- How do I learn new recipes?
- Experiment with ingredients in the Discovery Pane of a cooking station to learn new recipes.
- Can I ask you something else?
- Thank you.
- What makes chef an advanced discipline?
- Cooking has many recipes to master. Also, the ingredients come from all over the world and can be expensive.

- Never mind.
- True words. Have a good day.
While Gourmet Training is active:
- Eating isn't just about survival. Food nourished the heart and mind just as it does the body.
- Seimur said you could make me a better chef.
- Did he? Well, he was correct. As I like to say to my students, "All things have a right to cook. Even you!" They don't laugh at my jokes however.
- Um...can you teach me some uniquely sylvari dishes?
- Of course! How about this; make me a Filet of Rosemary-Roasted Meat, a Bowl of Artichoke Soup, and a Bowl of Poultry Tarragon Pasta, I'll taste them and evaluate your work. Yes?
- Yes.
- I don't need anything now, actually.
- I need cooking supplies. (Same as above)
- I have some question about cooking. (Same as above)
- True words. Have a good day. (Same as above)
After crafting all Sylvari Culinary Demonstrations:
- Your dishes are missing something. Mmm. Yes. You've underseasoned them. The key to unlocking truly excellent flavors in your food is to use fresh herbs and spices.
- Where can I get better spices?
- I get mine from a gardener just north of the Gardenroot Tunnel. I'm sure he'd be willing to help you out if you're nice enough.
- I'll talk to him.
- Okay.
