My name is Arlais. I'm the ward's second-in-command of fractal research, and I've taken charge of the cleanup here.

This version of Garenhoff aimed to test what would happen if the tower was ever destroyed. Things aren't going well.

If you can spare the time, please stay and help out. These people deserve better than what we've given them.

If the goal was to study the tower's destruction, why focus on Garenhoff?

Garenhoff is the epicenter of the damage—the place where we could study its most immediate effects. There were other fractals to study in the long term, but luckily they didn't manifest here.

Were you in favor of the fractals?

I wasn't, no. They have provided a lot, but the cost is just too great. But I continued in my position in the hope that I could prevent their worst excesses. I don't think I succeeded.

What's the plan for the villagers?

We're moving as many as we can to the refugee camp. That storm makes the prospect of them staying in Garenhoff impossible. Beyond that... we don't know yet.

We'll deal with it as it comes, then.

What caused the storm?

Residual energy from the destruction of the Wizard's Tower in their reality. It's been hovering over the village since then. Yet more suffering we've caused them.
