Yong Reactor

Confidential Report on Yong Reactor Prepared by Ministry of Energy Archivist Seung

Xunlai Jade's Yong reactor began construction in 1828 CC, initially designed as a geothermal generator, in an effort to supplement Xunlai Jade's growing power needs for New Kaineng. However, less than five years into its operation, Lady Joon approached the Ministry of Energy with radical new plans for a complete refit.

In lieu of the hydroelectric generators, Lady Joon presented an entirely new structure off the main reactor chamber, with what appeared to be massive jade-tech rings, which she told the oversight subcommittee were a "new type of turbine." The committee was skeptical, but Lady Joon's scientists and engineers demonstrated the immense power output of the new technology, and the refit was approved by the Ministry.

Only after the construction was complete and the inspection was scheduled was the truth revealed, albeit only to the highest ranking ministers in the Canthan government. The Yong Reactor was being retrofitted to house the Elder Dragon Soo-Won. Needless to say, this knowledge was quickly compartmentalized and classified by the Ministry of Security, in coordination with the Ministry of Intelligence and select members of the government and the royal family.

Since the installation of Soo-Won's chamber, energy output for the Yong Reactor far exceeded what the geothermal capacitors are capable of, and discussions are ongoing about expansion to further sections of the sea shelf. Although the geothermal generators still provide the bulk of the power to the Yong Reactor itself, the remaining "dragonjade" power is channeled into batteries that are now shipped across Cantha.

This report will be redacted from the official archives, pending approval by the Minister of Energy.
