Amulet of the Sky[edit]
per this, if you shift+click the item in your inventory, what is its ID? (I suspect the ID in the infobox is incorrect as the API page for that one suggests that its stat selectable). -Chieftain Alex 16:24, 7 May 2022 (UTC)
- I checked the ID is 95423. It seems the amulet you get with the level 80 boost is different than the amulet you get with the Demo Gear Loot Box, although they share the same item name. The item prefix is different tho (selectable <> celestial).
- I created a new page for the historical version of the item Charged Quartz Orichalcum Amulet of the Sky (historical), with the item ID 70118.

- I meant to say thank you for amending this. -Chieftain Alex 18:27, 11 May 2022 (UTC)
Infobox parameters[edit]
We usually don't sort parameters alphabetically, parameters like name or icon can be always found on top, parameters like gallery, id, requires and status can be always found on the bottom. Whether it makes sense or not but that's how wiki editors have been adding them for around ten years and that's the positions where the wiki editors are looking for them. Not sure if it makes sense to completely shake up this habit. --Tolkyria (talk) 20:18, 7 May 2022 (UTC)
- I want to add that it does not mean we are not open to change of how we format stuff, but it should be discussed properly first before implementing new changes yourself. ~Sime 22:41, 7 May 2022 (UTC)
- Mistake, not really, don't worry.
- As far as I know there's not really a exact convention in which order the parameters should be listed. Here are some thoughts to this topic, I couldn't really connect them properly, thus an unordered list.
- In general, the parameters loosely follows the displayed infobox order, so using this order can't be wrong. Ultimately, noone will be bothered if you mix up the parameter order. As I already stated above, some conventions:
- The parameters name or icon go on top as they are optional and use the pagename on default, thus these parameters should be immediately visible on the top.
- The parameters id, gallery, requires and status are generally placed on the bottom.
- We have around 50 infoboxes on the wiki, see Category:Infobox templates, hence changing the order for only one infobox while leaving the others untouched is not really beneficial.
- We maintain about 100.000 pages, let's say that 50%-75% of these pages have an infobox, so I doubt there's anyone that wants to maintain a correct parameter order all the time. Also botting a new order could cause some mistakes due to an unexpected format, etc..., such that the infoboxes could break while there was no need at all.
- Some wiki editors are editing for 10 years, pretty much everyone is used to the current method, thus in my opinion we cannot introduce an alphabetic order nor maintain it in the future. At this point the only reasonable approach is to stick to the current way.
- Item infoboxes are rarely created by hand as there the wiki tool GW2W Easy Mode which creates a first draft of the infobox based on the API. So somehow an infobox parameter order is dictated by this site simply by being incredibly useful and by being the only tool that provides this information.
- In general, the parameters loosely follows the displayed infobox order, so using this order can't be wrong. Ultimately, noone will be bothered if you mix up the parameter order. As I already stated above, some conventions:
- To answer your question, there's no particular infobox parameter order that you should follow, you will be totally fine if you copy it from either the template page, the formatting page, any other mainspace page that is using the same infobox or from GW2W Easy Mode. This may not be a satisfying answer if you expect a properly sorted parameter list but in my opinion the time that needs to be invested should be spend on adding actual content (that's what matters which is presented always in the same independently from the parameter order). --Tolkyria (talk) 16:42, 11 May 2022 (UTC)
