item icons[edit]
I'm not sure how you're getting those icons larger than 64x64 (extra large interface option?), but they are somewhat distorted because the original game textures are only 64x64. You can find a link to a zip file of all item icon textures on my userpage. —Dr Ishmael 15:45, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, it was with the extra large interface. I downloaded your icons now, but since the names only consist of digits, how would I find the icon I need? Sabsi talk 15:54, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
- Luckily, they're usually grouped fairly well, so you should find e.g. all the Steam weapons' icons located very close to each other. —Dr Ishmael 16:35, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
- I can't seem to find the Verdant Scepter icon there. Could somebody else take a look? What if it really doesn't exist in this icon collection? And unfortunately, several of the Steam icons were sorted far away from the others. Sabsi talk 17:55, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
- I'm going to wait until jayavoc's bot goes and retags some of the icons you uploaded, and then they'll appear in the deceptively named User:Chieftain Alex/sandbox/Jumping puzzle nav.. its pretty easy fixing the icons once they all appear in the same place.0 (and yeah there were at least 10 missing icons from the pre-christmas .dat..) --Chieftain Alex 18:16, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

- The file IDs are assigned as the asset is added to the game, which is why related icons are usually close together. But if a icon was changed, and for whatever reason the new icon was added as a new file instead of as a change to the existing file, then the group gets split up. I seem to remember now that this did happen to the Steam weapons - they originally used generic icons and were updated with their unique icons at different times.
- My archives are dumps of all UI textures (of the specified size) as identified by the GW2DatBrowser. There are rare cases where an icon's texture is not 64x64 or is not identified as a UI texture. There's nothing I can do about that. (@Alex: I'll post updated archives tonight, mmmmkay?) —Dr Ishmael 18:33, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
- @ Ish, I won't download any .dat dumps until I get home on Friday.
- @ Sabsi, yeah, any icon is better than no icon. (please don't upload 64x64 bad icons though, because I'll never spot the difference :P ) Chieftain Alex 19:04, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

- If it's not a clean texture, then it doesn't really matter if it's too big or too small, so your current large one is fine. —Dr Ishmael 19:42, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
waypoints[edit]
The wiki doesn't maintain articles for waypoints, so please stop adding links to them. —Dr Ishmael 20:22, 22 December 2013 (UTC)
quicker route to Iron Horse Mines[edit]
In regards to File:Mithril Iron Horse Mines.jpg - you don't have to swim all the way across Grimstone Mol. There's another entrance to the same cavern on the south side of Slough of Despond, just follow the outside of the wall around counterclockwise. —Dr Ishmael 18:58, 23 December 2013 (UTC)
- Good to know, thanks, I added it to the Mithril Ore (node) page. I actually prefer the other route, though, because it has the other possible rich mithril spawn place on its way and because it has fewer enemies on low population servers like mine where the events inside the tunnels south of Slough of Despond always seem to be up. But I'm still glad to know about this alternative route now, I never noticed that tunnel before. Sabsi talk 20:58, 23 December 2013 (UTC)
