section headers in edit summaries[edit]
When you click an [edit] link on a section header, the wiki will automatically fill in the edit summary with that section header for you - it looks like /* Header */
and it lets the wiki create a link to that section on that entry in the page's history. You should be adding your own edit summary after this section header notation, not within it.
Take a look at Crude Salvage Kit's history, since that's where I noticed you doing this. Compare the older edits with a link to the "Vendor" section against your edits - yours link to a non-existent section because you added your summary to the header notation.
I've explained this to a lot of people lately, so don't worry, you're not the only one. I would say "Welcome to the wiki!" but I see you've actually been around a while. :) —Dr Ishmael 03:33, 13 September 2014 (UTC)
- Ah, I had never figured this part out in the 8 years I have been dabbling in Guild Wars wikis. Just didn't look into the help information enough in hind sight. The "/* */" syntax is used for comments in some programming languages, so that help confuse me too. Thank you very much for the explanation. Rjlindy (talk) 15:16, 13 September 2014 (UTC)
