Hiya! When marking a spam page for deletion, try to avoid blanking it entirely - just slip the delete tag in at the top, as it saves the deleting admin time searching through history to see exactly what was on the page. Thanks :D -Auron 13:36, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
- Also, put the delete reason in the delete tag, like
{{delete|spam}}
. Also also, admins know to block spam accounts, so there's no need to call that out. —Dr Ishmael 13:54, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
- Allrighties, never had to do that before so good to know *;3 Magistrella 13:55, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
Infusion Recipes[edit]
The patch notes on Game_updates/2012-12-14 say that versatile infusion recipes were changed to require 10 skill points instead of 100. That would suggest that the recipes using 2 eldritch scrolls (50 skill points each) were removed and the ones requiring 100 philosopher's stones (1 skill point per 10) replaced them. Have you personally tested the eldritch scroll recipes since that patch? If not, I'd say it is very unlikely that they are still "legit". --Felbryn 20:45, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you for finding that one. Was a bit strange that one reciepe had a cost of 10 Skillpoints the other 100. As said in the Update "The Mystic Forge recipes for offensive and defensive infusions now take five skill points instead of 50, and omni infusions now take ten skill points instead of 100." Will take out the old reciepes and make a note about the old one. Magistrella 21:19, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
Evade[edit]
I apologize for unraveling everything you just did there, but evade is not an effect in any way. It is an action initiated by dodging or by skills, it is not an effect. I don't know why it's been misrepresented on the wiki for so long. —Dr Ishmael 13:56, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
- nps i just fixed what was added back in October, struck me strange that it was in the effects nav but seeing as there are many Skills that actually base on that (for example: Distortion from mesmer or while leaping/whirling on warrior) i left it in) Magistrella 13:58, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
Headings[edit]
Hey Magistrella, please use level two headings (using ==
) inside articles. The level one heading is reserved for the article title and doesn’t need to be entered manually at all. poke | talk 19:40, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
- Seen the changes of Alex too late, sorry - doing that from now on Magistrella 19:41, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
- Alex and I just explained the same thing over on his talk page. >.> The joys of concurrent changes. —Dr Ishmael 19:45, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
salvage kits[edit]
Saying that they are "sold in stacks of 25" is misleading, because standard stacking items can be combined/split. Salvage kits (and gathering tools) don't allow those operations, which is why we've used the different terminology of "uses". —Dr Ishmael 22:31, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
- The problem i just had was with an edit by Noxx on the Mystic Forge page. If we keep the "uses" we can not say in recipes: "You need 25 Master's Salvage Kits" for this. As the 25 that are used in recipes at the moment imply a full charged one. Maybe change the stacks of 25 to "stacks of 25 and are not splitable"? Magistrella 22:33, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
- If you actually bought 25 salvage kits in a stack, wouldn't they show as 25 Master's Salvage Kits in the game? Saying you need 25 salvage kits for the recipes is misleading, and expensive to find out if you believe what's written here on the wiki. 22:35, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
- The thing is: Everything else in the game is used in stacks except these "uses". Not to say that you can not put more then 4 items in the Mystic Forge. Magistrella 22:37, 14 February 2013 (UTC)

- The point is: you can't stack salvage kits. You buy 1 kit, and it has 25 uses - you can't increase that number, you can't split it, it never acts like a normal stackable item. When you buy other items from a vendor in a stack, like the laurel merchant, it tells you how many you are buying - "10 Mystic Binding Agent" means you get a stack of 10 of the Mystic Binding Agent item. For kits/tools, you don't see that - it just says "Fine Salvage Kit" or "Copper Logging Axe", it doesn't say "100 Copper Logging Axe".
- Saying that a kit/tool comes in "a stack of 25" BUT it doesn't actually behave like a stackable item doesn't make sense. —Dr Ishmael 22:41, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
- (Edit conflict) Everything else is doesn't imply this is; salvage kits clearly work differently from other items. But today I was in a Fractals group and I told someone about these recipes, after which he looked here and asked me if you really needed 25 salvage kits, that it's very expensive. And I don't blame him, because it looked like it. I think the best solution would be to add a new uses parameters to the mystic recipe template which would then show as 1 Master's Salvage Kit (25 uses). 22:42, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
- @Dr. Ishmael: Yes it does not, still it has a number in the upper corner and please note that a Kit with 24 uses, which is still just a single kit according to the recipes now, does not work. Only a full charged one will actually show up the Mystic Forge, one with 24 charges or less wont. Thats the real problem i have with the 1 there instead of 25, because 1 =/= not one with items that have uses.
- @Noxx: Yeah that would help clarify things up, as i just wrote for ishmael not fully charged ones even do not show up in the Mystic Forge. Magistrella 22:49, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
- As long as we don't use invalid terminology, you can modify the Mystic recipe listings however they make sense to you. —Dr Ishmael 23:13, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
- Good point, because "fully-charged" implies that you can recharge a kit. Which you can't. —Dr Ishmael 23:37, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
- At the moment i added "<kitname> must have all # uses left." on the pages that list recipes with Salvage Kits. That should do the trick i guess Magistrella 23:43, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
icons[edit]
rather than uploading 4 duplicates, if they have the same image its easier to just use the icon = ...name..jpg parameter in the infobox - especially if it isn't a .dat image and you expect Chieftain Alex to go and upload the 64x64px version at a later date :P -Chieftain Alex 22:28, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
- until now i didnt know (or even think *cough*) to use that in the itembox so it gets used for all recipes with that name. Another thing good to know, especially with all the bag/box recipes upcoming~ Magistrella 23:44, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
Recipes[edit]
You should use {{Recipe/Requires}} to generate the list. I don't know why it isn't listing all the disciplines although it should. It'll be moot when we switch the template over to SMW fortunately--Relyk ~ talk > 22:37, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
- Yeah i'd like to use that format as it would save me tons of time, problem is i'd need it expandable, as most items have a massive amount of recipes :/ Then there is the Problem with the Mystic Forge recipes, if i want to keep it consistent i'd need a sortable expandable with the same style. Unfortunately im no Programmer and/or never learned to code so i have to take what i get ^^ Magistrella 23:47, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
- Coding templates isn't that hard, but even I don't understand the DPL code used to generate the lists. The goal for SMW is to work wiki magic and generate the lists automatically; like passing the name of an item to a template and that generates the entire table of items that require that item as an ingredient.--Relyk ~ talk > 00:19, 20 February 2013 (UTC)
