Hi there .. I don't want to add something to combat if you still have plans on fleshing it out more .. but I've added the fact that you can only learn new skills that increment by percentage via using the weapons a couple times, only to have you remove it ... do you not think this is pertinent? Or do you figure folks will figure it out as they play? Ideally it'd be nice to have this added ... so that players have all the information. I found this particular aspect to GW2 a bit confusing, it seems to be a revolutionary way of playing and learning new skills, so figured others might be confused as well. I'm going to go back and add it, but will make it a subcategory so it doesn't interfere with what you're doing in the top half. Jayne 18:33, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
- I'm not sure whether it really fits the article (combat) we are working on. We should touch more upon the inner working of the combat mechanics and not on the acquistion of skills (that's covered already on the skills page). On top of that, weapon skills just make up 50 % of the skill bar. There are skills (healing, utility, Elite) that need to be unlocked in a totally different way, through SP for instance. If you mention weapon skills in this aspect (which you unlock through killing enemies with respective weapon type/set), then, I think, you can't leave out the other skill types. It would just be incomplete otherwise. Under the bottom line, I'm still for leaving all that out or just mentioning it as a short (one-sentence) aside. Once the article is more clearly structured and expanded upon, this information may find its place in a better way. LeonardMcCoy 19:18, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
- I figured if I was new to GW2 (and I am, bear with me), I would look under the general category of Combat to learn all I could about gameplay. I don't think it would be a detriment to add these details, seeing as you learn them whilst in combat, y'know? Perhaps the other hotbar settings could be expanded upon with subcategories of their own ... honestly, if I wanted to know how to play, the most general tab with the most information would suffice for me, and I'd be grateful I didn't have to hop all over to learn bits and pieces, just have it in one spot. Just a thought, either way. Jayne 20:09, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
