The camp

Camp Karka is a landmark, the only thing to indicate it's location is the Camp Karka waypoint and events. The Lost Shores (meta event) is the event that establishes the base. You have to do the meta event to actually get up to that point, so simple pointing out it's location and giving vague directions helps no one. We have maps if people want to know where the waypoint is visually.--Relyk 07:28, 18 November 2012 (UTC)

I beg to differ, that was precisely the information I came looking for and who are you to say that no one else would? A map is fine but accompanying text only improves understanding. You see the "Getting there" sections that many areas have? There's a reason for that. Since the only information that was presented here was, in fact, the location of the camp, all that stuff about the Phase 2 meta event in the past is irrelevant. As I explained earlier, Phase 3 will probably involve the camp, so the location itself is what is wanted. And if you believe my directions to be vague and unhelpful for navigation, then improve them and stop using disingenuous arguments to remove pertinent information that you happen to not need. Guild Wars 2 Wiki:Location formatting does not have a getting there section. You can suggest it on the talk page. Either way, The section for phase 2 on the main page is a bullet list. Information on phase 2 goes on the actual page. And I already changed the article and added the area page after reverting your edit, thank you very much. Phase 3 will only be the finish of the Lost Shores meta event, Camp Karka has no purpose beyond being part of that meta event.--Relyk 08:44, 18 November 2012 (UTC)

I'm not referring to formatting, I'm referring to the information people actually find useful and put on pages of their own accord. I never said that Camp Karka was for the entire meta event, you are just making things up. The fact that its only a part of some events in some phase makes its location no less important for doing those events. Players don't give a fuck about where Camp Karka, they want to know where the event is. To do that, I simply have to point to Camp Karka waypoint and the area the waypoint is in. Phase 2 is the portion of the meta event up Clear the karka and their eggs to rebuild Camp Karka. I'm am simply referring to Camp Karka as the point for the end of Phase 2. I could simply omit any mention of Camp Karka and simply mention the event or the waypoint. I mention Camp Karka instead because it sounds better.

tl;dr Camp Karka isn't actually a location on the map, so it was obviously stupid of me to refer to it in the first place when it will so easily confuse players like yourself.--Relyk 09:20, 18 November 2012 (UTC)

Yup, and the event is at Camp Karka (and if you want to use a technicality that the camp itself is not a map location, it's still a waypoint and a particular part of the map that means the same thing). So the question is, how do you get to that part of the map if you don't already have the waypoint? Pointing to something the player can't see is not helpful. Showing them the waypoint doesn't show them that you can't reach it from the east side. For the record, I mentioned Camp Karka, not you, when I asked, "where's the camp?" and the subsequent post. Same here. I'd like to see the directions as well since I didn't know where it is. Having it on the Lost Shores is not necessary as it's too specific a detail, but having the directions directly in The Lost Shores/Phase 2 is definitely a good idea. -- ab.er.rant 10:04, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
