The Crimson Guild[edit]
Chapter 1: The mysterious charr
Krella's journey had not been easy. She and her patrol of Seraph had been investigating the area around the Durmand Priory, but had suddenly been assaulted by a gigantic dragon. Her entire patrol had been killed. Even her lover, Aaron, had perished in the dragon's wrath. She barely escaped.
The trouble hadn't stopped there. She returned to Lion's Arch with the grave news, only to be assaulted by undead just outside the city. Krella counted over 10 warriors. She quicly thrust foward a flaming pattern of a dragon's claw, but she was outnumbered. Krella knew she had to flee. She barely escaped with her life... again.
Krella entered the city again to seek some kind of refuge, but was turned down everywhere she went. The other Seraph told her to go to Divinity's Reach, but she knew she couldn't... not after what happened with her parents. Krella shook off the bitter memory quickly.
That was when she stumbled upon a conversation between two asura strangers in Lion's Arch, talking about a new guild. The guild is led by a mysterious sylvari secondborn named Dyspara. The asura talked of her with irritation. They expressed an angered doubt at her goal; to create a guild where all races were welcome, so long as they searched to bring peace to the world. The asura were pondering (out loud, of course) as to why Dyspara would make a guild so close to the tengu, just north of the dangerous Dominion of Winds in Kryta. They leered at Krella, and ended their resentful conversation with discussion of another young asura named Ryukk, who had "foolishly" joined the guild.
Krella wasted no time. That night she packed up her remaining belongings and left the Seraph barracks silently. She knew the way; the Domain of Winds was only a day's travel away. The problem was finding the Dyspara herself. The last of her important belongings fit into a large satchell hung on her back. She put on her cloak and left.
Krella entered the sector of Lion's Arch that was generally populated by the mysterious poor and asked for information on the mysterious sylvari. She approached the norn bartender.
"The beer is sweet today. What can I do for you, human?" The bartender seemed friendly enough.
"Do you know of a sylvari named Dyspara?" Krella inquired cautiously.
"Who told you that name?" the bartender was suddenly strangely hostile. He turned away quickly and busied himself with a drink.
"He's right you know, the beer is sweet... a bit too sweet." Krella turned and flinched at the sight of a frightening looking charr. He was cloaked with black material. When he turned to face Krella, his razor sharp teeth gleamed like metal. "Who told you that name, human?"
"I heard it around, that's all," Krella replied.
"I see. That's not the best name to hear around here. That woman's guild is the target of many assassination attempts," the charr warned with glowing fangs. The bartender turned around and placed the feline's drink on the table. Krella pulled out the seat next to his. The charr gave a strange, unusual sense of comfort. "You would do well not to talk about her at all, especially around these parts of the city."
"Well, why not?" Krella was beginning to worry. What if this isn't a good idea? I've already left my job at the Seraph Guards... where will I go? Krella's thoughts were interrupted.
"Dyspara has made allies with enemies of the general public. Take Kallah Flamesoul, for example. She was the charr that murdered She's a kind woman... but she's a bit too forgiving at times," the charr said.
"Really? Like who?" Krella asked. This idea was beginning to get even less and less appealing.
"If you two want to have this conversation, I'm sure the streets would entertain you." The bartender was uncomfortable, and angry. Krella turned around, and was shocked to see the entire bar glaring at them. The charr laughed hysterically. He winked at Krella and bid her farewell, abruptley.
"Wait a second. How do you know so much about this guild?" Krella demanded.
The charr laughed, and replied, "Well, Kallah is my daughter."
