Fay is a mesmer and member of the nobility of Divinity's Reach, and descendant of noble scholar-sorcerors of Orr. When she was a small child, her parents disappeared under unknown circumstances, though it is suspected that their disappearance is related to the family's historical involvement in the affairs of Orr and Kryta.
Family history[edit]
The origins of her family can be traced back to the nation of Orr, where they were respected as scholars and powerful sorcerers. High ranking individuals and devout followers of the goddess Lyssa, the family made itself responsible for maintaining Lyssa's shrines in Arah after the Exodus of the Gods, with many of its members serving as Priestesses. They were known to be well connected, not just among Orrian society, but also with nobility in Ascalon and Kryta. For over one thousand years, they remained firm in their duty to Lyssa and servitude to the nation of Orr.
In 1071 AE, when the Charr began their assault on the gates of Arah, the family collected their wealth and fled to Kryta, narrowly escaping the Cataclysm. It is believed that once there, they were involved in placing Princess Salma on the throne, and were rewarded with nobility in Kryta despite their Orrian ancestry. Because of their timely flight from Arah and their new-found loyalty to the Krytan throne, it was not uncommon for them to be viewed as treacherous, and they existed at the fringes of Krytan society.
For the next two hundred years, the family remained quiet but influential members of the Krytan noble class. After the Rising of Orr, they put their influence to use, supporting expeditions to Orr. They hope to one day retake their ancestral homelands from Zhaitan, restore the cities of Arah and Wren, and help reunite what remains of the Orrian people.
