Well I'm back...
So it's been a year, almost exactly, and I find myself drawn back to this wiki. Here's to another round of the madness.
To-Do List for Now
  1. PvP section. It's a complete and total mess and looks like it hasn't been properly updated since a long-gone PvP overhaul.
  2. Weapon quick references. Useful information in compact form; nowhere to be seen.
  3. More to come...

Previous[edit]

Happy Holidays
I wish all of you a happy, safe holiday and a wonderful new year. Here's to 2012; to the year that we will (hopefully) get Guild Wars 2.
What Is(n't) Trivia
  1. Definitions of words. [[Talk:Backdraft]]
  2. A term that has the similarity to a common phrase that is used in a video game or movie, but lacks other similarities beyond the superficial. [[Talk:Leap of Faith]]
  3. Inside jokes. [[Talk:Mending]]
  4. Mechanics that happen to be similar to other video games, especially common mechanics, like summons. [[Talk:Warband Support]]
  5. A skill name that is the same as a popular video game, due to a typo. [[Talk:Counter Strike]]
  6. Folk lore that has little or nothing to do with the Guild Wars universe. [[Talk:Troll Unguent]]
  7. This list will get longer, as I find new pointless trivia note suggestions.
Things that need to get done ASAP
  1. Category reorganization - The category system is currently abysmal, and we as a wiki community need it to be functional before game release.
  2. Formatting guidelines - Wikis are and should be encyclopedic in nature. Formatting guidelines offer continuity between one page and the next.
  3. Color schemes - Now that we have all the professions, we should go back and redo it to make sure we got it right (and add races).
  4. Site Logo (relatively unimportant) - so that it can't distract editors from other important discussions.
  5. Skill infobox - because we've spent too much time working and discussing to not reach a final conclusion.
Mesmers
Now that we're down to one profession, let's bat the ball around a little.
Engineers
...are a welcome change from the stereotypical swords and spellcraft MMO. And I'm sure that ANet has put a lot of time into intergrating them properly. (Ironically, my old mesmer message has become my new engineer message). If you don't like it/think that the engineer is horrible or game-breaking, then don't play. If you do choose to play, then at least acknowledge that GW2 exists because ANet wanted to make an original feeling MMO, and that you play on their terms (because it's not like you are going to make a state-of-the-art video game.) If you can't appreciate something revolutionary, then I don't think you should really buy GW2 in the first place.
