The Aidan Journal is a book that can be found in Durmand Priory's library in Lornar's Pass.
Text[edit]
- The text has faded with age, the curls and lines of the Ascalonian glyphs have ragged edges. A scholar's note indicates that this journal is over 200 years old.
- Read it.
- City life is confining and worst, civilized. The houses and shops kill the wind. The air stagnates with the stench of imprisoned animals. That's not the life for me. That's why I became a ranger.
- Read on.
- When I was young, my father would send me to the marketplace, and I'd trudge there like it was a punishment. Now when the spirit takes me, I run to the other side of Kryta. A farmer plods, but a ranger runs.
- Read on.
- Every road is freedom, and I am free. I move in a swirl of flashing blades. As the river must flow, so must I keep running, because I answer to no law save that of the wild: survival of the swiftest.
- Read on.
- You who read these words, undoubtedly long after my death—if they stir your heart, then you must run with me. The open road awaits you. The wilderness calls to you. Answer it and run with me.
