Dialogue[edit]

Before starting What Was Before
Ah, youngling. Word of your actions in Nyedra have reached me. I would ask something of someone so...capable.
Talk collection option.png What do you need?
Tecla the Venerable: Ah, youngling. Spare me the briefest moment, will you? Well, less brief relative to your ephemeral span of existence...
Tecla the Venerable: We must not shape the future without considering the contours of the past. To that end, I ask for your assistance.
Tecla the Venerable: There are some few of us who recall a time before Eparch's misdeeds altered the course of our culture.
Tecla the Venerable: But our light dims, and our memories with us. So I ask: Will you seek out these vestiges of a bygone age?
Tecla the Venerable: Some might seem trivial. Others inscrutable.
Tecla the Venerable: But what is more valuable: A hoard of riches, or a trinket of the past that helps mold a brighter future?
Talk end option tango.png Sorry, I can't right now.
After starting What Was Before
Word has spread that the beacons have changed. Nayos is listening. Lady Peitha will have the audience she seeks.
Talk collection option.png These relics—where can I find them, again?
Throughout Inner Nayos, youngling. The Heart can attune to their ancient energy. Use it to reveal them.
Talk end option tango.png I see. Thank you.
Talk more option tango.png Are there more beacons out there? (Same as during Eventide's March)
Likely. The beacons have been around for a very long time—longer than me, if you can imagine. Only recently has the Midnight King utilized them for oppression.
Talk end option tango.png Maybe we'll deal with those, too, if they're ever a problem.
Talk end option tango.png Glad I could help.
After completing What Was Before
Tecla the Venerable: Youngling. Wayfinder. Your contribution to the future of my people—ALL peoples—will far outlast our lifetimes.
Tecla the Venerable: Let us hope these artifacts you've retrieved on this aged Kryptis's whim will have a fraction of your impact.

Trivia[edit]

  • Tecla the Venerable is most likely named after Maria Teresa Merlo, a catholic nun to whom Pope John Paul II conferred the title of "Venerable" after confirming that she had lived a model life of heroic virtue.
