Talk:White Mantle
What, no talk page? Well, they did suck in GW1, and won't be getting another chance here. Too bad. Cress Arvein 02:22, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- Didn't you read the page? It's supposed to be a secret. Lord Belar 04:38, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
a return?[edit]
awesome this'll be good! I hope the new Guild System would have you join small groups, like maybe an Alliance that favors the White Mantle against those who favor the Charr, or the Sunspears Zachariah Zuan. 22:51, 29 March 2010 (UTC)
- Most likely Kurz/Lux will be replaced by WM/SB battles. Eive_Windgrace 04:35, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
- Possible, although those are entirely human factions, so I'm not sure I see that being very likely. --Kyoshi (Talk) 04:39, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
- Most likely there won't be a single (if any) alliance vs alliance kind of set up in GW2. I doubt that the WM would be a joinable group anyways. It's like the human equivalent (or one of) the Inquest, the Flame Legion, Sons of Svanir, and Nightmare Court. -- Konig/talk 21:28, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
- So Eive what your saying is that we can choose whether we go for White Mantle or Shining Blade?--♥Icyyy♥ 04:26, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
- Who be Eive and no, that is not the case. As shown in the War in Kryta: White Mantle are enemies. The closest we can go to "joining" the White Mantle is the official facebook page made by Anet's PR. -- Konig/talk 04:44, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
- The second comment Eive states that--♥Icyyy♥ 04:47, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
- Somehow I overlooked Eive's name. Huh. But I doubt that what Eive said will be the case. -- Konig/talk 07:11, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
- It seemed like they pushed the SB on us because that's what GW2 lore says happens. But they have mentioned future "Decisive battles" in the War in Kryta content. Although I suppose I am thinking a little too single-raced, but I'm sure if the WM play any large, important part they could threaten all of the races, not just humans. Remember we haven't been told where the Scepter of Orr wound up. Considering it doesn't seem like Livia possesses it anymore after getting it from Orr. Eive Windgrace 08:30, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
- And besides its 250years after GW1, so who knows who is in the Shining Blade, their could be Norns. You just don't know with ArenaNet.--♥Icyyy♥ 11:12, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
- I doubt that the elite guard of the queen would have norn, who dislike the queen, in it. -- Konig/talk 19:44, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
- Charr don't trust magic because of the flame legion, that won't stop player character charr from being elementalists, necromancers (or mesmers) or guardians. Ramei Arashi 18:05, 8 February 2011 (UTC)

Cardassian?[edit]
Interesting how much the White Mantle logo looks like the Cardassian logo, from Star Trek: [1] Both groups are despotic and certain of their moral superiority. - Brian Kendig 18:54, 26 September 2012 (UTC)
- The similarities only go so far as to the general shape, which is very generic. Don't see much resemblance in the emblems, tbh. Konig/talk 21:22, 26 September 2012 (UTC)
Source for whereabouts White Mantle?[edit]
The White Mantle retreated to the Maguuma Jungle, where they have thrived in secret, even without the guidance of their false gods, hoping to one day return..
I'd like to know where that information is from, or is just an assumption? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 192.168.104.82 (talk).
- gw1:Shadows in the Jungle and gw1:Brisban Wildlands (there are Seraph sent there to investigate the White Mantle) and gw1:Voices From the Past (confirmation that the White Mantle are behind at least most bandit attacks; bandits are seen in Brisban Wildlands which everyone finds "odd").
