- So..No race? Race = Watchknight. I'm clueless here. Ventriloquist (talk) 17:45, 9 August 2013 (UTC)
- maybe race = Mechanical to make it more generic. --Claret (talk) 17:59, 9 August 2013 (UTC)

Scarlet[edit]
She was able to recreate and control the Watchknights because she understood the way that steam creatures were built, I'm not sure she actually created the steam creatures though. Netherdiver (talk) 09:20, 14 March 2014 (UTC)
- It says on Steam creature that their origins are unknown, not that Scarlet created them. I'm confused. Vili 点 15:59, 14 March 2014 (UTC)
- "It was later discovered that their susceptibility to sabotage was due to their similarity to the steam creatures, which were created by Scarlet." In the Watchknight page. Netherdiver (talk) 17:23, 14 March 2014 (UTC)
- I know. That was just added very recently, but it doesn't seem to match with existing lore about the possible origins of the Steam Creatures. That's why I'm confused. Vili 点 20:19, 15 March 2014 (UTC)

Deletion request[edit]
We do have pages for the creature types of Twisted Watchworks and Jade Constructs, why are Watchknights any different?--Lon-ami (talk) 16:05, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- In all honesty, Construct is a catch-all for NPCs of unclear mechanical race with non-natural/spiritual origins.
- However, those two get their own category because 1) they're not unclear; 2) they have a large number of entries; 3) Anet seldom (if ever) makes a race for a singular entry and for years there was but one NPC for "Watchknight"; 4) Twisted Watchwork have their clearly own defined drop table, which goes as far as including Twisted Watchwork Scraps and the like, while Jade Construct use White Mantle drop tables (most constructs. TL;DR, Twisted watchwork and Jade Construct are their own species for the same reason Golem and Steam creature are. And Watchknight fits zero of these reasons. Numbers, lore, drops.
- IF - and this is a big if - Watchknight were to be in any race category besides Construct, it'd be Twisted Watchwork, since they were released at the same time and both shared Watchwork Sprockets and Watchwork Boxes during their release of Queen's Jubilee/Clockwork Chaos. All the same they are NOT their own race. Konig (talk) 18:53, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- As far as I can tell, Jade Construct was a race in the original Guild Wars, so no question there about why that's a race. Twisted Watchwork is, as I pointed out before, refered to at least three times in game(specifically Powerful Potion of Slaying Scarlet's Armies) as being a their own thing. Also like Konig said, they both have a large number of NPCs; three ranked NPCs with the same name does not a race make. Otherwise we'd be make racial pages for nearly everything from Wolves to Flame Legion Effigies. - Doodleplex 19:03, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- This page is useful to store the whole story around watchknights, instead of having it divided between NPCs of different ranks.--Lon-ami (talk) 17:42, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
- The whole story was already on the normal ranked NPC. You literally just copy-pasted your rendition of what was on the NPC page to this one, editing only to remove the link to the Champion Watchknight and your (just as silly as this) move of Twisted Watchwork -> Twisted Watchwork creatures.
