Clearly mention rejuvenation?[edit]

Wouldn't it be better to clearly mention rejuvenation? If you just read the description you might think Resolve grants regeneration instead of rejuvenation. Corvus 19:36, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

The description is the ingame description. :S Maybe a note though... Aqua (T|C) 22:15, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
While it is standard practice to link the first instance of a word... in this case the first instance of "Regenerate" (in-game description) actually refers to "Rejuvenation". I have un-linked the first instance of "Regenerate" and left the link to "Rejuvenation" in the notes.   Frostty1 11:11, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

Does Resolute work with Battle Presence?[edit]

Resolute: Your passive resolve is stronger. (What does that really mean? How much more regen?) Battle Presence: Nearby allies gain your passive Virtue of Resolve. (Do they get the enhanced Resolute Regeneration?) --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.243.255.133 (talk). 18:03, 24 April 2012 (UTC)

Regarding the first question: lots of skills and effects don't have full numerical descriptions in the game yet. This is most likely because they're being changed so much that there's little point to writing down the numbers. Skyy High 19:28, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

Amount of Conditional Removal?[edit]

I know the game is not out yet and there has only been 1 non-NDA BWE & Stress Test... But some of the skill descriptions are so vague and nebulous, it's frustrating.

The skill description says, "Activate: Remove conditions and regenerate nearby allies".

  1. Does this remove conditions from you AND allies when activating or just allies? Answer: It looks like the condition removal is only for yourself. Stills needs to be clarified.
  2. Do you receive regen when activating? Answer: Seeing this skill activated in a recent video (link unavailable), the answer is yes.
  3. The skill descriptions says, "CONDITIONS", plural... more than one. Is that a typo? If not how many conditions will it remove at the default level? Answer: The new skill description, from the video, says two.
  4. With the Purity of Resolve Trait, "activating your Virtue of Resolve removes three conditions". So... how many is that in total? 4? 3? Answer: It looks like the total would be 3 and that the Purity of Resolve Trait only removes one extra condition.

TY if anyone can relay their experience with this Virtue/Trait.   Frostty1 05:28, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

Updated Skill Description[edit]

I have updated the skill description based on this video (00:14) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ca2qc9o842U that was uploaded Feb 20, 2012. The description only shows up for a split second, but it's there.

> I have added the text with the puncuation AS IT IS in the game. Eg: "Regen(15s): +x Health regen" no space between the 'n' and the ')'. No period after 'regen'   Frostty1 11:11, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

Yes, none of the skill effects stated in skill tooltips after skill description have punctuation. I added skill icon for Regeneration, but since Rejuvenation is not yet available as skill infobox template effect, I'll leave that as part of skill description. Mediggo 11:41, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
* Mediggo, wtf is your problem? I DIDN'T ADD the skill icon for Regeneration FOR A REASON. Based on my experience with GW1 wiki's, skill descriptions have always been the verbatim, in-game descriptions. The description of any effects are separate in GW2 skills. I believe they should ALSO be verbatim, as per the in-game descriptions.
* IF there has ALREADY been a consensus, in the community, that descriptions of effects WILL NOT be in-game verbatim, then I apologized now, AND I will apologize AGAIN when you point me to the pertinent reference. Otherwise please UNDO what you have done.
* I SPECIFICALLY made the note that I, "added the text with the puncuation AS IT IS in the game" BECAUSE OF YOU. I SPECIFICALLY included the youtube link... FOR YOU... just in case YOU reared your head. If you are TOO LAZY or incompetent to go look at the link I have provided... then you should NOT HAVE CHANGED MY EDIT.
* The video DOES NOT show the description as: "Regeneration: 15 s".
It shows it as: "Regen(15s): +x Health regen" ...where "+x" is the per character variable.
* ADDITIONALLY, you are INCORRECT that, "none of the skill effects stated in skill tooltips after skill description have punctuation." AS AN EXAMPLE, Shield of Judgement has, "Protection(5s): 33% damage reduction." WITH A PERIOD.
* I am trying to update the skills and ADD CONTENT... AND YOU are too !@#$%^& lazy to go look at the link I provided, instead just !@#$%^& up my edit?? All you can do is ask, "Also, anyone have/know video cap of Resolve skill tooltip?" WTF do I have to do? Go get the screencap for you?
* So AGAIN I ask you W...T...F... is YOUR problem??? I took the info DIRECTLY from the video... but that's not good enough for the high & mighty Mediggo? Well, you know where you can medig-Go to.   Frostty1 12:50, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, the descriptions are supposed to be in-game verbatim. The description is currently, as you wrote it, perfect match to in-game description. I requested another video source for two reasons, first being that, as you said, the skill tooltip only shows up very briefly and I'm not quite sure if it "pops up" completely, thus hiding some relevant information such as radius of Resolve's active effect, and after checking the video for the second time, it does in fact show (Rejuvenation icon) Passive Regeneration (1s) and below it (Regeneration icon) Regen (15) +x (from compassion, I assume). The second reason is that since last BWE a good portion of the game has been updated, so a more recent source would prove even more reliable. Shield of Judgment <- no punctuation on there, not sure what you're on about. I don't know how its tooltip appears in game, but there's no punctuation on that on wiki at least. Mediggo 15:30, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
1a) Try going to a video. Then full screen. Then use the spacebar to advance frame-by-frame to find the tooltip. I didn't feel the need to educate people HOW to use youtube. While it only shows up breifly... it stays on the screen as long as the video is paused. /doh.
b) Who gives a shit if YOU are, "not quite sure if it "pops up" completely, thus hiding some relevant information such as radius of Resolve's active effect"? I am, as I have been watching other Guardian videos, looking for updated skill descriptions. If you doubt the edits I have made... go find proof that I am wrong BEFORE YOU CHANGE MY EDITS. And the Passive Regeneration is (3s) NOT (1s)... I'm aware of this, from spending time looking through videos, for info to ADD TO THE WIKI... vs just !@#$%^& around with other peoples edits.
c) Just to show you that I'm not a complete dick... here is a clear view... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPRmFQHjSpY (3:12).
2) Not only is my skill description perfect... so were both of my effect descriptions... until you obliviously/blindly made your changes. I am more concerned with the ACCURACY of the info... not a bloody icon that !@#$%^ up the info I typed.
3) Undoubtly a lot has been updated... maybe EVEN SINCE the Stress Test. But guess what (genuis)...? BEFORE I touched the page... the skill was WOEFULLY OUT OF DATE. To the point where I had to ask the four questions, I posted above. I don't care if I update a skill, then an hour later come across a more recently posted video and have to update the skill again. The point is to make them as up-to-date as we can. Not sit around watching the "Recent changes" page.
5) Shield of Judgment??? Surprise, Sur-FUCKING-prise! You're not sure what I'm "on about"? You moronicaly A~D~M~I~T that you do not, "know how its tooltip appears in game"... So why are you opening your pie-hole about it? And then the coup de grâce... You point to the info on the wiki, as your reference. While I am referencing the latest skill capture I could find.
* Shield of Judgement, "Protection(5s): 33% damage reduction." IN-GAME DESCRIPTION.  Frostty1 18:16, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

How much does it heal when activated?[edit]

How much does it heal when activated? Does anybody know please? 10.28.100.31 01:12, 26 October 2012 (PDT)

It adds: 1625 + 0.75*Healing Power The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.73.31.226 (talk • contribs) at 19:48, 27 March 2013 (UTC).
On a level 39 Charr Guardian, down-levelled to 29, with 41 Healing Power, activating the skill give me a heal of 279 (edit: this includes 5% WvW heal bonus). Solving for a linear equation of the form Heal = A + B*Level + 0.75*HealPower gives nice round numbers for A and B, but A is negative, i.e.:
Active Heal = 27*Level - 535 + 0.75*HealPower
This does give 1625 at level 80 (with 0 healpower), and 279 at level 29 with 41 healpower. But this will only give a positive result if level >= 20. Perhaps there's another formula for levels lower than 20?
The other possibility is that the (1625 + 0.75*HealPower) formula only applies in sPvP, and there's another fomula for PvE.
Finally, it could be non-linear. --Alad 05:21, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
Is 279 the green attribute value you had at the effective level? Or was it your full healing power attribute for level 39? Having a subtraction term like that is highly unusual. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 12:40, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
279 is the healed amount under those conditions. 41 is the green HealingPower attribute. I'll try to get some more data points. --Alad 18:10, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
Sorry, I copied the wrong number, I meant to reference 41. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 18:37, 9 April 2013 (UTC)

this healed 507 as a level 30 jumping off some cliff in a city (no downscaling) to get hurt. i have 310 healing power. this turns out to be 5 +9*lv +0.75*healingpower based of alad's guess. however, that doesn't quite match up if plugging lv 80 in (5 +9*80 =725). the difference between lv 29 and lv 30 is 26 points. can someone make a character and use this skill while still inside tutorial (and thus lv 1 instead of lv 2)? 67.233.98.18 18:33, 9 April 2013 (UTC)

After a bit of testing between levels 3 and 80 (and correcting for the WvW heal bonus which I had neglected before), I came to the conclusion that it's a quadratic function:
Active Heal = 25 + 0.25*(Level)^2 + 0.75*HealingPower
Valid for both PvP and PvE/WvW. (Note that the game rounds the heal value twice: once before applying the WvW bonus, and once after). --Alad 04:53, 10 April 2013 (UTC)
