Just Saying
I might just be infected with the "Thins on fire = pro!" mindset, but I will definitely be transmuting my balth gauntlets and FDS for use at level 80. 67.181.180.101 20:46, 18 March 2012 (UTC)

Difference between normal and Fine Transmutation Stone?
As shown from the leaked images of the cash shop http://i.imgur.com/L0XIR.jpg --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 218.186.18.249 (talk).
- Normal transmutation stone only works on level 79 and below items. Fine Transmutation Stone works on any item. [1] 10:12, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
Hall of Monuments Rewards
Whats the bet that like the bonus weapons in GW1, our HoM reward weapons/armor have really shit stats so if we want to keep the skin we have to pay. Nice one ANET, reek havoc in the Guild Wars economy to try and squeeze a couple of dollars out of us. 79.75.93.58 12:01, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
- They already said the HoM weapons will be low end gear, this doesn't mean you need to spend real cash on transmutation gems though, you can gain them through karma vendors and the in game store, ( you accrue gems to use in the ingame store via the trading post using in-game currency or real cash, cash just happens to be the fastest form of gaining gems). So you can gain everything purely through in-game methods, it will just take longer. --Coltaine
- Looking at gw2db, it's possible that the HoM rewards will be a kind of preset transmutation stone that converts to that item only. Which is probably the best solution, since it means players don't have to buy transmutation stones and Arenanet doesn't have to provide them for free for HoM rewards to be usable. -- Nineaxis (talk) 18:35, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
- So if say I want to use the Fiery Dragon Sword at level 80, do I use the budget transmutation stone to convert the skin to a well statted piece, or do I need a high level transmutation stone? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:79.75.87.143 (talk).
- On the Gem Store, two kinds are offered: Stones which work up to level 79, and stones which work for equipment of all levels. Stones found in-game can only be used for items up to certain level, as stated on the article. Btw, remember to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~), thanks! Mediggo 11:35, 22 May 2012 (UTC)

- Having come across this kind of late, it's rather pleasing to see a "griper" debunked, although it is sad that Mr. 79.75.93.58 had to carry his gloom around instead of enjoying the anticipation of GW2.
- Trans-stones are not at all needed to enjoy HoM rewards. Although the rewards are mostly cosmetic (aside from Ranger pets), it is nice to look fine from L1 onward. It's a free ride to the Eye of the North in GW2, and there is no charge for the 'skins' you acquire there. --Gold Recluse 17:48, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
Received 3 Transmutation Stones as In-Game Reward!
I didn't take a screenshot like a derp, but I received 3 Transmutation Stones as a reward for finishing all of Kessex Hills today in the BWE#2. So this appears to be another way to get them in-game!--Annaveil 03:22, 9 June 2012 (UTC)
- GuildWars 2 Guru has a thread with the picture. [2] --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Anzenketh (talk).
- You can get them from mystic chests too. I got 10 fine stones from them in BWE3. Also I believe that at least 1 key is part from the personal story. I suspect there'll be more. Regular TSs will be more common of course. prism2525 19:46, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
Trivia
The inventory icon no longer looks like the Powerstone from GW1, it looks like golden cube with some small decorations on it. Anyways, the trivia line should be removed, since it's no longer true. Symphy 11:26, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
- The text says it "resembles" the PoC, not that it is "identical" to it. --Gold Recluse 17:52, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
Two Items, One Page
I went ahead and put both items (Basic vs. Fine) on this same page because they're basically identical and everything on this page applies to both. Anyone feel otherwise that they should be split?
HoM Transmutation "Stones"
The Hall of Monuments rewards for items are essentially items with a transmutation built in. Since they are slightly different I guess we should have a link in a "related items" section or something? --Surlywombat 13:17, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
- In support of this, I got some kind of transmutation daily award from using the HoM items. C0c0c0 13:37, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
- That would be the "Tinkerer" achievement in the Tradesman category. —Dr Ishmael 14:02, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
What do we mean by "In Game"
Is this just quest rewards and mystic chests, or do these things "drop"? Is there a karma vendor somewhere that sells them? C0c0c0 13:39, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
- No, just map completion chests and daily (I would assume monthly as well) achievement chests. —Dr Ishmael 14:00, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
- Several guildmates told me they got Fine T-stone for 100%'ing level 80 zones or possibly even for the "Dailies" but when I 100%'d Frostgorge, I only got level 78 weapons and Basic T-stones. Whatever info gets puts down for Acquirment; may need to also list this apparent *anomaly* we've noticed where Completion/Daily chests appear to give rewards based on the level you are Downscaled to rather than you actual Max level (80). --ilr 17:01, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
Also Transmutes Sigils
This also lets you transmute sigils as well as looks and stats (stats and sigils are separate).
ie: I have 2 helms. One looks good and has a nice sigil, but it stats suck. The other helm has good stats. When I transmute them, I can choose to keep the looks and sigil of the first helm, and the stats of the other.
I think this should be mentioned, since it allows you to move a sigil from one piece to another free of risk, other than turning two items to one. 192.168.104.79 00:48, 8 October 2012 (UTC)
