Talk:The Long Way Around
I don't know if it was intended or not, but you can also just swim through a hole in the rock up and left of the forcefield to get through and get the achievement. Simooshy 23:31, 14 November 2012 (UTC)
Lol, Maybe the title is a clue to the hole?
- was covered in corruption and could use that shortcut without problems with the achievement, chest or anything [[80.137.10.199 19:00, 28 October 2013 (UTC)]]
Anybody know if you get anything special if you take the real long way around? I just happened to find the shortcut by chance since I was having trouble due to being alone. I'm guessing if it's anything at all it's just a bit of dialogue from Explorer Camelia, and it didn't seem like Fryxx acknowledged my shortcut. Pjwned (talk) 22:47, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
- Well, now the shortcut is ruined, so if you want to do this now you have to do it the long, annoying, hard way.
- Thanks ANet.Pjwned (talk) 07:50, 29 December 2014 (UTC)
I just did this last night (5/28/14) with a guildie and the short way around seemed to be blocked save for a small impassible peephole. We did it legit and I went to backtrack from Fryxx's room, and I could see the peephole from the opposite side and no other path through. So the shortcut is, from what I saw, no longer doable.
I can confirm this is indeed the case, after spending a progressively-more-anxious hour looking for what used to be an easy chest and vein. Way to troll, anet! Now the description, which used to be a funny bit of sarcasm, makes no sense at all. Or at least, has nothing to reference anymore. Because games should make you cry, I guess. Best of all, any poor new player now has to get the achieve the super-annoying way, not the insultingly easy way the rest of us old-timers did. Another big win for the Managerial Decisions Dept. Ridiculous. Imperator Nox 09:13, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
Looks like the portal stays open for about 5 min.
Is this achieveable by: Going in with 6 ppl, don't care about contamination, position each on a pad, let the contamination wear off, open the pad ur at and opening the chest after? Or do all pads have to be opened by the same person? ~ Mindbender1981
- No it doesn't need to be done all by the same person, however the contamination doesn't wear off. - Doodleplex 21:25, 8 June 2016 (UTC)
- Yeah, it does after 10 minutes or so. ~Mindbender1981
Tip: You can do this more easily with the Prototype Position Rewinder. Go to each asuran pad, ignoring contamination. Press 1 to set your location. Race back to Camelia, get cleaned, press 2 to teleport back. Shut down pad. Rinse and repeat. It helps to have skimmer with diving ability. Cheers.
