maybe someone is interested in this: i just attuned 27 ascend rings (none was infused). Then I salvaged all of them. I got 169 matrices. That is 6,26 matrices/attuned ring. (I think the first salvage even resulted in 25 matrices and the character said something like "wow", but dont quote me on this)

Shouldn't the "salvaged from" section actually list the items this is salvaged from, rather than the tools used to achieve it? — snograt 16:42, 1 November 2015 (UTC)

Salvaged from Ascended Rings - but what amount? One? What is the chance?

Infusion

In regards to "Infusing rings for salvage is extremely wasteful.", why? I've had a look at what else Mists Essence is good for but other than gearing alt characters for fractals (if needed) they don't seem to have much of a use except for infusing junk rings to salvage. This is after crafting Ad Infinitum, which doesn't need that many at all. ~Miss Lana (talk) 09:55, 7 September 2020 (UTC)

In my opinion, it is better to hold onto the Mist Essences in case there is a future use for them. They're a rare drop and buying 9 mist essences from the merchant costs more than what you gain by salvaging an infused ring. --BuffsEverywhere (talk) 05:21, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

So "extremely wasteful" would specifically be for buying them from the vendor outright. That wouldn't apply to drops as it stands now, as there's no further use for them than what I've mentioned (you could argue for in future, sure, but that could apply to most every material in this game).
