I don't think we can link to youtube here. Also, do we know what the actual titles are, or are they just the names given by the youtube uploaders? pling User Pling sig.png 22:35, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

Not to those videos anyway, that's obvious copyright infringement. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 23:01, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
Collector's Edition purchasers should be able to find out about real track names since the soundtrack comes with the CE. Mediggo 11:49, 2 August 2012 (UTC)
Not really. The Collector's Edition comes only with a "Best Of" soundtrack, and with a discount for the real thing. The full soundtrack is being sold at Direct Song. This article should be about that. Erasculio 12:24, 2 August 2012 (UTC)

Track listings[edit]

I have the 4 disc set on the way, but my game copy is digital. If you bought the boxed collected version of the game with the "best of" CD, feel free to add the tracks neobolts 19:24, 18 August 2012 (UTC)

Order Fulfillment[edit]

It would be nice if you actually received the product after paying for it. I bought the 4 CD Guild Wars 2 soundtrack back in October and have still not received my hard copy product. I only get automated emails from DirectSong.
While Jeremy Soule does wonderful work in music. His epic failure with providing paid DirectSong customers Guild Wars 2 4 CD Soundtrack should remove him from any future ArenaNet projects. ArenaNet does not need the stigma of DirectSong associated with it. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 50.148.180.43 (talkcontribs).

Well that's relevant. 174.35.247.117 20:15, 24 February 2014 (UTC)
I realise that the above comment was sarcasm, but I am genuinely wondering whether it is worth noting on the page that if you order from Direct Song, you are not likely to receive your copy. Santax (talk · contribs) 12:57, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
It would probably be okay to note something like "many customers have reported not receiving their orders", with a link to that thread; it's just documentation of facts, after all. Vili 点 User talk:Vili 20:24, 30 June 2014 (UTC)

Composing vs. Arranging[edit]

For "Bash the Dragon" and also the march I guess, Matthew Moore wrote the music and lyrics. Maclaine arranged the song and recorded it, but he wasn't technically the composer. Should this be corrected? How do we credit Maclaine with arrangement? Source: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/the-origins-of-the-dragon-bash-theme-song/

Composing is arranging and recording, not sure what you're getting at.--Relyk ~ talk < 02:37, 19 November 2014 (UTC)
"Composing" is simply writing the music (or lyrics, not always done by the same person) down on paper. Arranging is taking existing music and reworking it with additional themes or motifs, or sometimes just altering instrumentation for a bigger/smaller ensemble or entirely different musical genres. Recording is altogether separate and isn't necessarily a part of composing or arranging. They're all pretty different. -Auron 03:04, 19 November 2014 (UTC)

Is the Heart of Thorns music now on ArenaNet's soundcloud?[edit]

Specifically, the 2 tracks that play on the character select screen now. --210.186.163.10 18:05, 23 October 2015 (UTC)

You can find them [here]. -- Kazerniel (talk) 10:47, 9 April 2017 (UTC)

Missing track from Super Adventure Box[edit]

The "level loading screen" background music is missing. It's the screen that tells you the LEVEL NAME in capital letters and has a feathery pen with red ink drawing your progress on the "world map".

Where can we download this particular SAB track? --175.142.33.214 15:41, 27 April 2016 (UTC)

Since the above youtube video is no longer available, here are some other examples of this missing SAB track that isn't on ArenaNet's SoundCloud:

Megadestroyer music?[edit]

What is the name of the track that plays during the Megadestroyer fight? --138.75.160.129 19:13, 9 May 2016 (UTC)

Typo or sic?[edit]

On the Original Soundtrack Disc 4 Track 6 is called "Whisper's in the Dark". This doesn't sound grammatically correct. Is it a typo on the page or the original song title? -- Kazerniel (talk) 13:40, 12 March 2017 (UTC)

Also on the Heart of Thorns soundtrack disc B the song titled "Faren's Flier" seems to be a typo. At least the ship is called Faren's Flyer in the wiki. -- Kazerniel (talk) 14:19, 12 March 2017 (UTC)

Spelling of Issormir?[edit]

On the Original Soundtrack Disc 4 Track 16 titled "Scales of Issormir" is marked as {{sic}}. Why is it so? Issormir is spelled the same way on the wiki. Should we remove the {{sic}} mark? -- Kazerniel (talk) 13:40, 12 March 2017 (UTC)

Just noticed this question. It looks like it was originally added as "Issomir" not "Issormir" but somebody changed it later. Since I don't own the soundtrack, somebody who does would need to check to see if it was spelled correctly there or not in order to determine if the sic tag should be there. - Doodleplex 18:12, 7 April 2017 (UTC)
Hiya, I just ran across this [verification requested] note, I own the soundtrack so I've double checked and can confirm that it is named '16 Scales of Issormir' on the disc, so I've removed the note! Gwylen (talk) 12:48, 22 February 2022 (UTC)

Were "Ruins Of An Empire" and "Tears of Stars" heard in Guild Wars 1 also?[edit]

Are Tracks 16 and 18 of Disc 1 originally from GW1? --138.75.230.51 13:25, 20 August 2017 (UTC)

Heart of Thorns combat music[edit]

They don't have titles, so it would be interesting to compile in which events the specific tracks appear in.

I'm gonna list them from memory, and you can correct me :D (They are available to listen/download from Soundcloud, so you can double-check!)

1 - Dragon's Stand meta, I think. Maybe the phase where we circle around the blighting trees?

2 - Dragon's Stand meta?

3 - Dragon's Stand meta, I think

4 - Tangled Depths meta (the phase right before Chak Gerent spawns?)

5 - Tangled Depths, Chak Gerent - Rata Novus Lane

6 - No clue. Dragon's Stand maybe?

7 - Verdant Brink - Night bosses (plus someone on Soundcloud said the Ley Line Anomaly event)

8 - Dragon's Stand - Mouth of Mordremoth

9 - Tangled Depths, Chak Gerent - Nuhoch Lane

10 - No clue. Dragon's Stand maybe?

11 - one of the other Tangled Depths Chak Gerent lanes, I think

12 - Tangled Depths meta?

13 - one of the other Tangled Depths Chak Gerent lanes, I think

14 - No clue. Dragon's Stand maybe?

15 - No clue. Dragon's Stand or HoT story instances?

16 - No clue. Dragon's Stand maybe?

-- kazerniel (talk) 12:09, 2 November 2018 (UTC)

Combat music is the music that plays when players enter combat and aren't fighting an enemy designated as a world boss-level foe or doesn't otherwise have a specific track that overrides combat and boss music. Those tracks almost all play anywhere in HoT when entering combat, I'm fairly sure. Konig (talk) 14:12, 2 November 2018 (UTC)
That's not my experience. In the case of the tracks I'm sure of (Rata Novus & Nuhoch lanes, VB night bosses) I'm sure that I only heard them during those specific events, and nowhere else. There are many tracks from the list that I think I only heard in Dragon's Stand (or DS story instances) and in no other maps. -- kazerniel (talk) 18:00, 2 November 2018 (UTC)
It's entirely likely that certain events call upon specific combat tracks, as I know certain story instances do. However, in Dragon's Stand, the only tracks I recall ever hearing there solely were the aptly titled "Dragon's Stand" (pre-towers) and "Mouth of Mordremoth" (during the Mouth fight). I've heard tracks 1 and 2 in every zone, for example. Konig (talk) 22:10, 2 November 2018 (UTC)

Where can we buy the digital version of the 3 expansions' soundtracks?[edit]

Also, what exactly are the file formats (and their qualities) of the tracks? --112.199.131.249 09:19, 22 February 2022 (UTC)

I added a paragraph about how to purchase the soundtrack: it is officially available from Amazon and iTunes. Not sure about the formats though, sorry. ~Sime 23:07, 24 February 2022 (UTC)

Player Death soundtrack[edit]

Does anyone have the original player death/defeat soundtrack? The one from the game as it was in 2012? It is not on my official soundtrack CD. The player defeat music later changed to what it is now. Neither are on the official soundtrack CD's.

Seperate Pages for Each Expac OST[edit]

Rather than bundling all expansion soundtracks on one page, I think we should consider having a dedicated page for each expansion. That way, we can also have trivia and notes sections for each. We can keep this page for the base game OST. --Teletric.3821 (talk) 12:56, 23 August 2024 (UTC)
