Talk:Sandstorm Flush Hand/Drop rate

Diminishing returns work on ecto gambling beware. I have gambled A HUGE amount within a short period (4 hours) now and I have noticed diminishing returns. There was almost always only 25 dragon cards and 50 ecto returns. When diminishing returns hit, especially so for a large sample size, I was losing far more than 5 gold / 3 ectos per sandstorm flush hand. I was losing on average about 70 gold and 180 ectos per roll.
Fairly large sample, but not input into the tables due to different recordkeeping: https://pastebin.com/iPcjzM1v (Trial/Gold/Ecto/Lucky Roll); Lucky Rolls are imprecise. 20:30, 22 September 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you for the enormous amount of data. According to your results, averages are:
- -4.58 gold per orb
- +0.61 ectos per orb
- 0.137 lucky rolls per orb
- Our previous averages are a lot worse, but your data is a much larger sample. One day I need to take the time to calculate a proper variance and confidence intervals, but right now I need to play the game. Tub (talk) 21:28, 22 September 2017 (UTC)
- It now goes to 1808: https://pastebin.com/DnBraNH0 -- As before, don't take the number of random items as entirely accurate as I KNOW I've missed a few. On the other hand, I've gotten 272 runes with 100% accuracy (which is the only item that matters, really.)
- -1.410g
- -2.295e
- 0.1504 runes (Note: Anything over ~11g is enough to offset the gold losses, with these numbers. Not enough for ecto, unfortunately.)
