Peer Review and My Friends, the Smiths[edit]
Qualify for Peer Review
- Explore the mesas and follow the ornithologist's trail of clues to verify or disprove his hypothesis.
Qualify for My Friends, the Smiths
- While traveling to the Mordrem prison camp, find and rescue the five ordnance masters from the Pact: Baroosh, Shashoo, Beigarth, Izu, and Occam.
Has anyone found any of these NPCs? (please leave a comment, and any further info you may have)
I have found the empty nest of whatever the end goal with Peer Review is, simple jumps up to a cliffside cave that wrap around the cliff to the right of the last stairs you climb before the first combat. (Where Rytlock mentions his Might ability in the notes on this page) --Skekzyz (talk) 18:56, 12 December 2015 (UTC)
- The starts are very obvious and direct, but you cannot actually do the achievements on a characters' first go. Got to complete it and take the same character through again - like S2 achievements, and unlike any other HoT achievement. Konig 23:06, 12 December 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks Konig, I found what the problem is, I inadvertently started them both with Character B (if character A finished it once to unlock them) but did not finish them and I have no idea which of my 9 is Character B or if that Character B finished that part of the story or still has to do it, however Character C and beyond CANNOT SEE THE START OR ANY PART OF THESE SUB-QUESTS because of this fact. I will attempt a redo on a Character that has finished it once, before I get all 9 of my characters through it, and if need be again after they are all past it. So the moral/bug is DON'T START THESE UNLESS YOU INTEND TO FINISH THEM WITH THAT CHARACTER. --Skekzyz (talk) 19:29, 13 December 2015 (UTC)
- Redoing the instance does allow a character to find the starts and complete these, but again it DOES NOT allow any character that is first run into the instance to see them once another character has started them on their first run, so it does appear to be a bug of some sort. You may be entirely correct, however Konig, as I'm not 100% sure that I did see the starts on Character B and now have no way to test that, but I think I did, I remember seeing the note and ressing someone in the cave early on, but my memory is not that great. --Skekzyz (talk) 19:48, 13 December 2015 (UTC)
- If Character A completed the instance and unlocked the achievements, and only Character A has completed the instance, then no other Character would be able to start these achievements. If your testing this on "Character C" and beyond but its their first time, then they won't see it because it's their first time. It must be the character's second time - even if the achievement is unlocked - to do the achievement. Just like S2 achievements and replayability. Konig 20:32, 13 December 2015 (UTC)
- For what it's worth this is no longer the case. I just played through this instance on my third character, having not seen the notes before in any of my earlier play-throughs, and despite it being the first time in the instance for this specific character I could do the "quest" just fine. - I just confirmed the above - that you can now play through this instance on a character who has never experienced this story step before, and the notes will be there and you can complete the achievement "Peer Review". 73.248.65.7 04:57, 27 February 2019 (UTC)
