Trivia[edit]
I didnt remove the Trivia but the anonymous user did raise an interesting question, how do we know that this Monthy Python reference and is this really a reference at al? I'm personally doubtful since most SAB references are references to other games. If anything, it would be more of a joke to typical gaming starting gear, like the broken sword from DS --Doctor Refrence (talk) 16:45, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
- As I'm not terribly familiar with Monty Python I looked it up, and based on what I found(which was something to the effect of those guys defending against somebody attacking, not wielding themselves, with a "pointed stick", along with fruit and a gun), I agree, it's far more likely to be as you said with the bad weapons at game start. - Doodleplex 18:05, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
- In "Self defense against fresh fruits" you have recurrent reference to a pointy stick. This would not the first time that arenanet refers to a Monthy Python thing : see gw1:Category:References_to_Monty_Python
- They like Monty Python quite a lot, so another reference seem very natural to me.--82.240.45.162 21:38, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
- The case here is far stronger for it to be the "cruddy sword(since I can't think of an old school RPG game excluding Pokemon where the starting weapon isn't a sword actually) given to the hero at the start of an RPG" reference than Monty Python, as if you look closely at the pointy stick, it actually resembles a sword(the German wiki's image is better at showing this than our shot). Also a Monty Python reference doesn't fit since all the references for SAB are linked back to old school video games. - Doodleplex 22:00, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
