Weird Behaviour[edit]

So, i noticed while playing around with this that tethering an ally will give me, for some reason, participation in their kills. Anyone else can confirm and maybe guess how and why that happens? 95.222.119.153 18:11, 27 May 2024 (UTC)

Providing boons to players gives you a portion of their kill participation and therefore credit. Has worked like this since the January 26, 2016 Game update but more recently with the June 6, 2023 Game Update the participation got increased for WvW and noticeably that seemed to effect PvE as well. So yes, applying boons, cleansing, healing, reviving, etc. all give you partial credit from your allied players. You'll also note that it says that it was intended to still need you to hit things to get full credit, this has not worked even before the WvW changes and it's super easy post those changes. Just applying some boons means you could be getting full kill credit from 4 other players at least. Hopefully that makes more sense and yes this applies to other sources as well like Herald's facets. --Dak393 (talk) 01:47, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
I'm honestly a little confused by this, i literally never noticed getting participation for boons only so far. Still, thanks for the explanation. Lou Wolfskin (talk) 18:01, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
Yup, it was a thing for people farming and getting credit before (like the herald stacks you may have seen in places) and it became a lot more popular with Halloween last year after they made it easier, lots of heralds and even just general boon givers/healers running labyrinth and getting all credit. I even ran a heal specter for a long while there since there were so many heralds lol --Dak393 (talk) 00:31, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
