Talk:Mystic Salvage Kit
There appears to be a bug, where this item is soulbound, even though it says it is account bound, Can anyone confirm?
- Absolutely. I opened a in game bug on it a few weeks back, but I suspect this is way below their radar, -- Oblio (talk)
Cost Analysis[edit]
10x master salvage kits = 1 53 60
kits required for Mystic kit 26 24
max cost in gems is therefore: 1 53 60 - 26 24 = 1 27 36
assuming use of 10 Mystic Forge Stone at 450 , that is 135 per kit
maximum cost per 100 1 27 36 divided by 1.35
is thereforeThus this is more cost effective than buying 10 single kits until price for 100 gems hits 94 34
(450 4 24 53 at this maximum price) 192.168.104.82 01:58, 15 October 2012 (UTC)
for the 10 stones will cost- That assumes that your money would otherwise sit around doing nothing--if you can get a return on your current cash (e.g. by buying better gear to improve your farming rate, or perhaps by playing the market), then the fact that the mystic kit requires you to spend a lot more up front increases its effective cost. (Probably still a good move at current prices, as long as you're actually going to use all 250 uses...) --Felbryn 07:57, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
Lets do the math more generally:[edit]
- 250 Uses of a Mystic Salvage Kit cost:
- 26 24 (for the 3 kits)
- 3 Mystic Forge Stone: cheapest price = 45 (if you buy 10)
- -> 250y = 45x + 2624
- <=> y = 45x/250 + 2624/250
- <=> y = 0.18x + 10.496
- -> One use of a Mystic Salvage Kit costs ~ 0.18 + 10 50
- 25 Uses of a Master's Salvage Kit cost 15 36
- -> 25y = 1536
- <=> y = 1536/25
- <=> y = 61.44
- -> One use of a Mystic Salvage Kit costs 61
- So our unequalation is:
- 0.18x + 10.496 < 61.44, xeN
- <=> 0.18x < 50.944
- <=> x < 283.0222_
- L = (0, 283.0222_]
- -> If a gem costs more than 28 (2 83 2 per 100 ),
- you will want Master's Salvage Kit. Else you will want Mystic Salvage Kit.

Break-even point for purchasing gems with coins[edit]
Math Fixed(Jon Ghoti):-> 250y = 3(45x) + 2624
- <=> y = 135x/250 + 2624/250
- <=> y = 0.54x + 10.496
- -> One use of a Mystic Salvage Kit costs ~ 0.54 + 10 .5
- -> One use of the Master's Salvage Kit (15 36 / 25 = 61 .44
Not totally. You need 3 Mystic Forge Stone, not one. Breakeven point is still 94 34 14:41, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
Need to start with full kits?[edit]
Do the Fine, Journeyman's, and Master's kits all have to be a full stack of 25 for this to work? Or can you use each one up down to a single use and still forge the Mystic Salvage Kit with them? 96.244.125.8
Went ahead and tested. They all need to be full stacks of 25 or it won't work. Think that's worth adding to the Note section? 96.244.125.8 14:28, 23 December 2012 (UTC)
Replacement?[edit]
Hi, so, I have been trying for 57 days - doing the daily PVE and PVP every single day and I cannot seem to achieve 3 Mystic Forge Stones. I do not intend to pay gems for it, and was wondering if there was a possible way to replace the Mystic Forge Stones for another item, in order to still create the Mystic Salvage Kit of 250? Because I have 47 Mystic Coins, and I can easily obtain Skill Points. Also, I haven't seen any announcements of specific new released content (except for the Jan. 28th announcement), yet people on our server continue to find new Legendary combinations. For example, our server (Ferguson's Crossing) has recently discovered the Legendary Eternity Greatsword - which someone has placed on the Trading Post for 5,000 Gold and people are offering 2,300 Gold for it. If no one already knows this information, then I will have to test it out myself! Since I am really poor, I prefer not to test using items worth lots of money to me. --Deathdealers747 05:41, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
- I haven't seen mystic stones from dailies since first month, so maybe it was removed as a possible drop (or maybe it's just very very rare). You might be better off buying Master's kits and using the stones for something else. Regarding Legendary and other recipe combos in the forge: I'm not sure why anyone thinks that all possible recipes have been discovered or, having been discovered, that they are posted on the wiki. I am sure that ANet will continue to add items and recipes and change drop tables, but even if they did not, I doubt we will ever be ever to fully document everything in the game until it's is several years old. 75.37.16.51 06:30, 27 January 2013 (UTC)

Another Recipe?[edit]
When you have an unused Mystic Salvage Kit, you can make something with it in the Mystic Forge as well. Does anyone know what that is because I can't find it anywhere on this wiki.. Thanks in advance :) --Ikkealsheerser
- I noticed this too - an unused Mystic Salvage Kit can be used as an 'ingredient' in Mystic Forge. I wonder what the recipe is... --Combatter 10:37, 10 March 2013 (UTC)
- I've managed to figure out that it can be used with Chattering Skulls, Nougat Centers, and Plastic Fangs, but only 2 of those 3 can be used at a time. There is a fourth ingredient that I haven't found yet. Initia Nova 06:33, 31 July 2013 (UTC)
- Last ingredient is a Trick-or-Treat Bag. I tried it with Chattering Skulls and Nougat Centers, cost 26 of each, only gave me 38 Plastic Fangs back. Never do this recipe. Initia Nova 06:47, 31 July 2013 (UTC)
- This recipe also works with Master's Kit (with the same material input and comparable output amounts), so I'm not even sure it is intended this way. --aRTy 18:49, 9 August 2013 (UTC)
Today's gem prices regarding cost of mystic salvage kit?[edit]
Can anyone work out the cost for today's sort of prices? :3
Going by this month's average:
Converting gold to gems = 3g 12s 0c for 100 gems
Hopefully someone with math skills can do it. :D IceBlink (talk) 21:03, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
- The maths for working out the cost is as follows:
- Cost of 100 26 24 * 1.35 +
- for 3 12 that is 31200 * 1.35 + 2624 which gives 44744 or 4 47 44
- unless you have the stones from dailys\chests, remember that price reflects buying 10 stones for 450 so the initial outlay is higher.
- Using the pack of 5 stones the multiplier is 1.5 rather than 1.35
