Talk:Muridian Uplands
Easter Egg?[edit]
While sitting on a rock structure North-West of the Muridian Waypoint, I found a troll the runs "out" of a cliff. If you attack him from this cliff (or attack then drop aggro) he will run to the cliff face and disappear, using the in-game shadowstep sound and appearance. There is a little campfire next to the cliff that I was on and that it disappears into. Given that there is no mention of it yet, or even of Jungle Trolls in Muridian Uplands according to the wiki, I assume this is a reference to myth, literature, a game, or something.
The rock structure I was on top of is near the campfire, with the way up at the base of the cliff near the campfire, but not the same place as the troll emerges or disappears. The troll appears once every few minutes; you can attack him from the cliff with spells with a larger range than 1200 or projectiles that travel farther, like Fire Elementalist Staff Skill 1, or just wait for him to move closer. He should quickly drop aggro, as mobs do when they can't get to their target, and then proceed to run to the cliff and shadowstep away.
Does anyone know of a myth or story or game scene or otherwise that includes something about a troll disappearing near a campfire into a cliff wall? Is this a reference to a Living Story or GW1 event? I'm curious, as this is unusual behavior for an NPC.
EDIT: There is also an ambient rabbit nearby as well. I don't know if this is relevant.
