Talk:Modus Sceleris
Veland attacked me in Fireheart Rise east of Pig Iron Waypoint. If you defeat him, a Modus Sceleris chest spawns. Pucktrapper 15:05, 11 April 2013 (UTC)
- That corresponds to a known location for Veland, but good to know they're still there and just haven't been removed. Vahkris 17:35, 11 April 2013 (UTC)
Meaning of Sceleris[edit]
There is an old Greek root word, "skelis" that means 'rib of beef.' There is the exact same word in Latin (Sceleris) that relates to "curved, bent" (as ribs are often curved) but Skeleris also carries the implication of 'morally bent, twisted', thus "crooked, wicked, criminal." So does "Modus Sceleris" mean "The way of criminals"? --Gold Recluse (talk) 11:48, 7 June 2016 (UTC)
Update 2016[edit]
I remembered I asked a question about the current state of the Modus Sceleris last year to Bobby Stein on the Forums. It's not much, but hey, it's somewhat relevant info and I believe it should be archived. This is what he said:
Disclaimer: I didn’t work on the Modus Sceleris content so I’m not sure what the long term plan was, originally. I do get the impression that the team that added it did so with intentions to develop it over time, but there was likely a change in direction (e.g. LW Season 1) that caused it to be shelved. Those folks probably got assigned to other projects, if memory serves me. Would we ever use Modus Sceleris again? I think if we had a compelling reason we would, but they’re pretty far down the list (narratively speaking) because there are other stories we’d like to develop and groups we’d like to explore first.

What role do they play in the game?[edit]
I just fought one of these, but what role does this play?--Knighthonor (talk) 18:25, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
