Not sure about the setup of this page. Merkessa is an npc and thus needs its own page, but maybe it shouldn't include the skill challenge explanation here and instead link to a different page. There's no consensus on the layout of skill challenges yet though. --Ee 06:30, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
- On the NPC page seems like a good place to put it. If we do it that way I think we should put it on the NPC page of the npc that starts the skill point. So this page would be just about the npc with a note saying it is involved in a skill point and linking to the npc that starts the skill challenge. Then that npc would have a new section like ==Skill Challenge== that would have the information about the challenge there. So Master Elemental Dylane would have the details for the skill challenge and Merkessa would just have info on that npc and a note saying it is part of a skill challenge and linking back to Dylane. The only reason I don't say list it on both is if we do it this way, then we should put the NPCs with skill challenge info into a skill points category and we don't need to list the same skill point twice in the category. Then if you are looking through that category you are finding where to start those specific skill challenges, not someone involved later into the challenge. 06:45, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
- Totally makes sense. Hearts and events are in a category, so skill challenges should be as well. On the skill challenge page this would probably mean linking to skill challenge pages (rather than the npc who starts it, don't you think?) which in turn link to objects and/or npcs when needed. Now it links directly to the objects of the skill challenges instead. That way you can get to each skill challenge from the general list, the starter npc or the object/npc involved. --Ee 09:01, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
- Well that depends on how you want to do it. It doesn't seem like any of the skill challenges that start with an npc are very complex so I didn't think that it would be necessary to have a page completed devoted to the skill challenge itself and I suggested that you could put the skill challenge page as part of the npc that starts the challenge's page. But yeah, for that list of skill challenges I agree that it needs to link directly to where we have the skill challenge information at. For example either Defeat Merkessa if you make it its own page or Master Elementalist Dylane#Skill Challenge (listed as [[Master Elementalist Dylane#Skill Challenge|Defeat Merkessa]] ) if you put it on the page of the npc that starts it. Then either page would be put into a skill challenge category (so if you do the npc route it would have its npc categories as well as the skill challenge category). The books have a page for their book (ex. Legion Tactics Manual: Ascalon Ghosts) which the list already links to so wouldn't need to be changed. 17:13, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
