Talk:Lost Precipice
Sources[edit]
I want to give credit to a non-A*net source for much of the information on this page to Dulfy ~ 1Maven (talk) 11:49, 31 October 2015 (UTC)
- Dulfy's source = anet, so the source for information is still anet. lel --Axolotl (talk) 21:18, 31 October 2015 (UTC)
- While I think we can agree that Dulfy is a valuable source of information for the GW2 community, giving her credit for stuff that other people have researched and elaborated on as well, would undermine and belittle the efforts of many. Credit where credit is due, but neither did I see her filling this section of the Wiki, nor was she the primary source for the info. --Maeggle (talk) 14:10, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
- I agree with your sentiment, but in Dulfy's defense, an Acknowledgment to the primary source was given on Dulfy's web page, "Special thanks to Ethereal Guardians (EG) Guild for the info on guild halls." ~ 1Maven (talk) 16:07, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
- The only item I see on there that may need to be sourced is the first image. I do not know where that image came from. If it came from Guild Chat it does not need to be sourced. The second image was from Guild Chat. The typed information I would argue may not have come from Dulfy. I would argue it likely did not come from Dulfy as it was not word for word so no plagiarism happened. If the image did come directly from Dulfy then the image either needs to be sourced. Or it more likely needs to be removed and recreated. Anzenketh (talk) 16:22, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
- Even though a hash of the images turned them out not to be the same. I have edited the images to remove any doubt that Dulfy was not the source of the images. Anzenketh (talk) 18:11, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you, but what you did may not be enough. Apparently Mora has even greater concerns about plagiarism, see Talk:Guild hall#Blatant plagiarism. In the hope that this issue can be resolved satisfactorily, I would appreciate it if you are able to make similar changes for [[:File:Lost Precipice claiming 1.jpg]], [[:File:Lost Precipice claiming 2.jpg]] and [[:File:Lost Precipice claiming 3.jpg]]. ~ 1Maven (talk) 18:45, 1 November 2015 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Dulfy has already approved the use of images from her website previously (I've asked before). We don't need to give explicit credit and it's never been an issue. The only case would be if she brings up the issue herself. The wiki isn't required to attribute Dulfy for derived ArenaNet content, but we still want to identify the source. It would be disrespectful not to. Usually it's a link to the source image on the file page.
As for adding prose, I prefer to link to her related articles and leave a note in the summary. Dulfy is a great way for users to get started on writing the wiki articles. The article itself will always be different from how Dulfy writes it up as changes are made.--Relyk ~ talk < 19:20, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you Relyk for that information it is good to know and something I have wondered. I figured that was the case that Dulfy approved us using her images but did not know for certain. For the guide to claiming the Guild hall. I decided to rewrite it anyways. Anzenketh (talk) 19:26, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
edge of the map.[edit]
Hi everybody, I personaly did not participate in the battle to claim te guildhal ... I did some exploring afterwards. And , found a way to get to the edge of the map by swimming underneath one of the waterfalls in the north-east corner of this map... The narrow passage that runs in east-southeast direction ... swim very close to the bottom and keep swimming till you are well past the waterfall.. then go up , and your on a small area looking out into ... emptyness .... - Hi Dworcean! This wiki probably is not the best place to report map breaking issues :). Please contact the official support either via the Guild Wars 2 forums or the support request form and provide them with some screenshots of the spot you could use to break out of the map, so they can fix it. --maeggle talk 00:57, 5 November 2015 (UTC)
JP[edit]
Could be worth putting in the notes that there is kind of a JP in Lost Precipice, Gilded Hollow even has two of them. What do you guys think? - WorldofBay 22th October 16
- I've recently done the JP. I could try to make a picture of it, or step-by-step images (the videos on youtube are terrible or inaccurate). Sadly, despite what I told my guild mates, there's no chest at the end :( G R E E N E R 20:01, 22 October 2016 (UTC)
