Talk:Legendary Relic
Visual effects?[edit]
As far as I have noticed, the legendary relic has no unique visual effects both in, nor off combat stand. This would link the relic visual effect mechanics more to the runes and sigils, despite it being listed as a trinket in the achievements and placed next to them in the character tab. Or has anyone noticed any visual effects after equiping the leg. relic? The almighty, all-knowing, generally omniscient, honored and beloved master Anomalous (talk) 13:56, 29 February 2024 (UTC)
Anet changes their mind[edit]
I'm not sure how to do the fancy note stuff but this is the source that what was announced differed because they changed their mind: https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/topic/144284-legendary-relics-dont-work-as-they-were-announced-merged/?do=findComment&comment=2093736

Variant ids[edit]
As you may have noticed the legendary relic has its item id. When you choose what relic you want your legendary relic represent it will also change ids. For example Relic if the Thief has id 101580. That means every player who will want to use /wiki command in game on their legendary relic, they will not connected to this main page. The list of relics are already massive and more might be added in game with future updates. We could have this list invissible so just that in game commnad would work but what if someone wants to look on specific relic because of some kind of effect ? In my oppinion it would be best to copy item infobox but add the ability to cycle for those you are looking for. It wouldnt take to much space and should be clear. But it might be nightmare to create. --DiegoDeLaHouska (talk) 16:53, 19 May 2024 (UTC)
- (I'm not 100% sure I understood the question, but I think I get the fundamental gist of it...)
- So at the moment this article tells us nothing about the effects of the available relic choices (or rather, it doesn't even tell us which choices are available, other than the lead sentence stating "any other relic").
- This is similar to the Legendary Rune and Legendary Sigil articles but imo should be more obvious. We could very easily add a Variants section to all three legendary Rune/Sigil/Relic pages with the Template:Main template to point at "Rune#Overview of superior runes" etc.
- Item ids are currently NOT set for any of the legendary relic variants (e.g. id 101500 is legendary Relic of Cerus lands me on the search page and no further). This is partially because they aren't whitelisted in the API and so pulling the ids will be a manual process from ingame.
- I think what you are asking is whether the id should point at the exotic relic page with the same name (which to me is a bit illogical), or whether it should point at this Legendary Relic page (different title to the appearance of the item ingame) but to a (for example) section of a new table with all the relic effects in it. In simple terms, do we (1) add the 101580 as an extra id to Relic of the Thief, or (2) to Legendary Relic using Template:Item variant table row (similar to Heirloom Seed Pouch#Variants).
- I suggest we do Option 2, and maybe a bit of SMW magic to pull the description off the exotic relic page into the legendary relic's item variants table for user convenience. -Chieftain Alex 17:54, 19 May 2024 (UTC)
Add note to the recipe for Mystic Faucets?[edit]
The recipe for Mystic Faucets can make either 1 or 5 pieces per craft. It might be a good idea to add this information to the recipe list as a footnote so people are aware of this. That is unless the probability of this happening is really small, which is hard to determine since I couldn't find any research on it. My guesstimate based on TP prices and a quick calculation is about 4-6 %, which seems like a reasonable ammount (giving one lucky drop per about 20 crafts on average which means once per Gift of Relics).
I am suggesting this since I don't have a permission to do such edit.
