Talk:Leather Bag
if the in game item is called "Leather Bag" then this page should remain and be expanded "Every Item a page and a page for every item" Rudhraighe 14:33, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
- I believe Leather bags are often given as storyline rewards and are not the same as crafted items and deserve their own category Rudhraighe 13:36, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
Green & Yellow Bags[edit]
Added these to the short list so far. IIRC I picked up both bags (on different kills) from the Wild Boar D-Event boss. No visible/functional difference between the two other than color. Color coding appears to be in line with weapon/armor rarity(?), so perhaps there's some hidden or upcoming differences to be added to these things beyond the slot numbers. - I received the 5-slot bags of color from the Champion Rotting Ancient Oakheart in Queensdale. I farmed him and got several different colors, but I can only specifically remember receiving red. I noticed no difference (ie, sorting priority/hidden from vendors) from the different colors, but I soon replaced them all and didn't really experiment. --Kaleden 20:21, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
- I can't help but think there's something special about them. There's 6 colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple) and all of them have 5 slots. Maybe they are just a reference to the 5-slot pouches people could have in pre-Searing, that you could dye. That, or some mysterious other use. MithTalk 19:56, 17 September 2012 (UTC)
Bound[edit]
4 slot is account bound, 8 and 10 slots are not bound. --BryghtShadow (talk) 21:43, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
Leather Bags as original PvP rank rewards[edit]
Looking back at the page history in each case, it seems that we used to identify different PvP ranks as providing bags of different slot sizes. I suspect V copypasted the 4 or 8 slot option over all of these pages and didn't realise their error.
- R1 = Rabbit = 4 or 8 slot https://wiki.guildwars2.com/index.php?title=Rabbit_Reward_Chest&diff=next&oldid=289944
- R10 = Deer = 8 slot or 10 slot https://wiki.guildwars2.com/index.php?title=Deer_Reward_Chest&diff=next&oldid=426597
- R20 = Dolyak = 12 slot https://wiki.guildwars2.com/index.php?title=Dolyak_Reward_Chest&oldid=498474
- R30 = Wolf = 15 slot https://wiki.guildwars2.com/index.php?title=Wolf_Reward_Chest&oldid=498463
- R40 = Tiger = 18 slot https://wiki.guildwars2.com/index.php?title=Tiger_Reward_Chest&oldid=498466
- R50 = Bear = 20 slot https://wiki.guildwars2.com/index.php?title=Bear_Reward_Chest&oldid=498471
- R60 = Shark = 20 slot https://wiki.guildwars2.com/index.php?title=Shark_Reward_Chest&oldid=813875
- R70 = Phoenix = 20 slot https://wiki.guildwars2.com/index.php?title=Phoenix_Reward_Chest&oldid=813876
- R80 = Dragon = 20 slot guesswork, page doesn't mention.
By looking at the item id sequence, I've found the 18 slot bag and someone checked it for me on discord. I've also got a highly probable id for the 20 slot bag which isn't documented anywhere - I do have a screenshot of its icon however which is slightly unusual. I'm probably going to have to go through each of the PvP rank chests and amend them anyway; so I'm thinking of splitting this page into individual pages (item variants table isn't built for the various bag properties). (I've written this after splitting the 8 bag one, which is when i realised not all rank chests had a chance of rewarding 8 slot bags..) -Chieftain Alex 18:58, 13 June 2021 (UTC)
- Pages now split, containers updated and nav created. -Chieftain Alex 20:58, 13 June 2021 (UTC)
Availability[edit]
I can't find these at any merchant or master craftsman in Lion's Arch. Have they been removed completely? Salvatos (talk) 06:24, 24 January 2023 (UTC)
- Did some checks
- Gravel Glittering — the 4 slot leather bag is still listed, and it is the top item
- Toskra — the 4 slot leather bag is the top item.
- Salty Emil — the 4 slot leather bag is the top item.
- Giita (master tailor) — agree has been removed
- Jraogh (master huntsman) — has been removed as above
- Klunn (master artificer) — has been removed as above
- so I agree the master crafters don't have it, I will edit the inventory templates. All merchants I looked at were OK. -Chieftain Alex 17:43, 24 January 2023 (UTC)
- Actually no template edits required, just the plainlist on this page. -Chieftain Alex 17:45, 24 January 2023 (UTC)
