Name

Do we keep the section about his name being a joke on Princess toadstool? or de we remove it? I am of the opinion that something can be a reference to multiple things at once like how one can make a joke about a nun who is also their mom. --Doctor Refrence (talk) 18:31, 31 March 2017 (UTC)

I was honestly about to remove the "name" part from the trivia as while King Toad's appearance is likely a reference to that character, the name I didn't see the connection at all. Being a play on Princess Toadstool makes far more sense to me, I'd go with that. - Do_odleplex 18:36, 31 March 2017 (UTC)

Thank you for leaving the appearance part there. I honestly did not see the play on toadstool. It is a play on mushroom kingdom (Kingdom of Fungus) because a king who, like Bowser or Wart (who you also throw items into the mouth to stun him) is preventing you from saving the princess. "Save the princess" is the whole quest so that is a play on Mario/Peach Link/Zelda. Just give Wart some love man King Toad looks just like him. I even knew how to fight him because I recognized the fight from Super Mario Bros. 2! --Randomman (talk)

I did give Wart a lil bit of sweet love, I even acknowledged that King Toad was appearance-wise definitely a tribute to Wart on the tribute place. But the name is most likely a pun on Princess=royalty=King Toad(stool). --Doctor Refrence (talk) 18:39, 2 April 2017 (UTC)
