I got the impression from the trailer that the settlement with sails on and full of norn bears was Hoelbrak, if you look at the shots of the town thats been posted on the page you can see (well at least I could see) what look more like humans in both size and build. I may be wrong but since Anet haven't specifically stated which place is Hoelbrak how can we be sure that the pic on the page is right. --Evil guy563 13:26, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
The plot
"a fang he took from Jormag lies in the Great Hall"
I wonder if that'll end up being some important item (remember the asura gate network was powered by merely being in proximity to a dragon) or if it's just a normal trophy the Norn have. A F K When Needed 12:21, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
- I think that's pretty kickass. He takes a dragons fang before moving south for the winter. How many werebears can claim that? Eive 14:46, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
- Tooth explained! It's just a strength indicator. It broke? --> Take back the lands! ge4ce 04:53, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
- I'd put money on that in your personal story as a norn, you end up testing your strength on the tooth and succeeding. 66.183.242.205 00:27, 26 September 2010 (UTC)

Sky Graphics
Hey, to anyone who's played EotN (I haven't, unfortunately), did the Northern Shiverpeaks often experience weather effects such as snow, hail, etc. as well as things like auroras? I ask this because I wonder if the "Sky detail" will be enhanced in GW2 to include these sorts of things, but I wasn't sure if they were in EotN already. --Amannelle 18:12, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
- I do remember auroras in several places, but I don't recall weather effects much. Much of EOTN's detail went into underground dungeons, which IMO were very detailed in some areas. Eive 19:21, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
- There's snow in Prophecies and rain in gw1:Gadd's Encampment (I think; definitely an asuran area, but can't remember exactly which). pling 19:27, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
- Pling is right, there is snow on various locations in the shiverpeaks and there is rain in either pre-searing and Gadd's Encampment. -- Cyan 19:35, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
- Oh yeah, gw1:Foible's Fair has rain too. pling 19:52, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

- @ Eive - The dungeons were very detailed, all two versions. Nearly all dungeons overlapped with another. Iirc, there was even a secret switch a while ago that showed all the unique dungeon rooms. Vald [Citation Needed] 04:56, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

Old norse trivia
I didn't add the note, but the only definition that I could find was for the first syllable hoel possibly taken from the word hol, meaning "hole". No findings for the second syllable. (Xu Davella 15:26, 17 September 2010 (UTC))
Races
I was wondering what everyone was thinking was on what they were leaning towards being. i big determination is whether what the armors will look like. Guild wars 1 was an awsome game but lagged in the armor area for most of the classes. please let me know.
Move
I disagree with the move performed. The name of the place is "Hoelbrak" - I don't know where "Great Lodge" comes from because, quite frankly, the Great Lodge is a portion of Hoelbrak. Hoelbrak has been described has being in 5 lodges - four dedicated to the primary Spirits of the Wild (Bear, Wolf, Raven, and Snow Leopard) and the Great Lodge which houses the fang of Jormag. I suggest moving back. -- Konig/talk 06:08, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
- To help narrate my point:
- "The five great structures of Hoelbrak – the Great Lodge and the four lodges dedicated to the Spirits of the Wild" http://www.arena.net/blog/norn-week-go-big-or-go-home
- http://www.arena.net/blog/legend-and-legacy-of-the-norn - note that "great hunting lodge" is a descriptive (not capitalized) term. Hoelbrak stands alone.
- http://www.arena.net/blog/norn-week-begins - no where in this, nor the previous link which are two of three official and recent documents is "Great Lodge" even mentioned. -- Konig/talk 06:12, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
- I'm a bit surprised about this move as well. I never got the impression that Hoelbrak was called this way as a real city name. Ge4ce-Talk-Contribs 06:27, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
- I also believe the Great Lodge is one structure within the overall city. The actual city is simply named Hoelbrak. - Alice 13:12, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

- From what I gather from the info, the lodge was called Hoelbrak originally and then the settlement spawned from there, now the entire settlement is commonly refered to as Hoelbrak --RaGingIMP 16:38, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

Statue of Jora
In the Norn racial area trailer, there are two statues of Jora presumably in Hoelbrak at 1:00. Should this be mentioned in the article?Tuomir 22:57, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
