In Bloodtide Coast, I was getting a low ratio of Coarse (T3) to Rugged (T4) on platinum nodes (~6:1). -Chieftain Alex 23:06, 10 April 2018 (UTC)
- In Straits of Devastation, I was receiving a low ratio of Thick (T5) to Hardened (T6) on mithril nodes (~3:1). -Chieftain Alex 23:19, 10 April 2018 (UTC)
- I did all four flax farms, in Verdant Brink, Tangled Depths, Bloodstone Fen, and Draconis Mons, for a total of 34 nodes, with eight level 80 characters, for a total of 272 plant node harvests. I got a total of 78 Thick Leather Sections and 4 Hardened Leather Sections, for a total of 82 pieces of leather. 272 divided by 82 is 3.317 nodes per piece of leather, which is exactly what the 33% chance should give. At current prices, this represents about 38c worth of leather per flax node. --Evilsofa (talk) 09:57, 13 April 2018 (UTC)
- Might I ask you to double check that data point you have from Trapper's Labyrinth in Snowden Drifts? First, I can't find any mining nodes in that area. Second, I found some copper nodes just outside that area in Hunter's Pitfalls, which is a level 16 area, and I was getting Thin Leather Sections, not Rawhide. I therefore think that that data point might be an error. ~Mervil

Acquisition[edit]
I spotted one of these in my inventory, and looking back over the chat, I think I had one of these drop while harvesting an Ancient Sapling in Ember Bay. I was using a frostbitten axe, and looking back over the log, the glyph seems to have popped out in lieu of a Snowflake (1glyph,1log,1snowflake,1log,1snowflake,1log). I certainly didn't use any of the acquisition methods currently listed --BramStoker (talk, contribs) 00:35, 20 May 2018 (UTC)
- You should report this in Glyph (upgrade). In the April 10, 2018 announcement that introduced the glyph system, Anet said they were not working on making glyphs available via gameplay (see: https://help.guildwars2.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000939167-Gathering-Tool-Update-April-10-2018-#q11). Is it an unused glyph that you could sell, or was it come account-bound? --Evilsofa (talk) 18:10, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
- I can confirm that today harvesting an Ancient Sapling I got a Glyph of the Leatherworker (Account Bound). My Game log looks like this: You receive 1 Ancient Wood Log, 1 Ancient Wood Log, 1 Glyph of the Leatherworker, 1 Thick Leather Section, 1 Ancient Wood Log, 1 Ancient Wood Log. I cannot confirm this was with a simple unglyphed Orichalcum Logging Axe because those were the last uses of the tool, but I'm almost sure that's what I was using .... -- KillerRabbit 👯💬 18:36, 21 December 2018 (UTC)
- On second though, "Glyphs applied to limited-use tools will return to the player's inventory after the final gathering charge is consumed.", I bet I had the free Glyph applied and forgot about it, and this was just that! -- KillerRabbit 👯💬 18:38, 21 December 2018 (UTC)
