Talk:Franklin Quickblade
Useful to know...[edit]
For those not familiar with this particular skill challenge, Franklin is not the garden variety Veteran. When you pop the chest, he and a pair of rogues (bandits) come out. Assuming you're tackling this at/around L10 which is what it's supposed to be suited for, here are a few details to note from the perspective of a midline "medium armor" character: First, it's a good idea to take out the rogues before tackling Franklin, as they'll do some 50-70 dmg each thru ~A200. They're easy to kill, but will grind you down while you're busy with Franklin. Franklin hits a bit over 150 on all attacks (again, thru ~A200), and much more with his main attack after retreating and visibly charging up. Once charged up, he'll leap at you (doing large initial damage), then enter a flurry for more. If you back off a ways while he's charging up, he won't be able to close the gap (thus avoiding the initial damage), and also won't be able to enter the flurry. He has no special defenses save one: he has somewhere close to, and likely above, 7000 health. I took note last time I fought this guy and I personally hit him for 6667 damage. That figure ignores moderate bleeding and whatever damage my pet(s) was able to inflict. Also, as an aside: take care engaging him when there are other bandits (typically a group of 3) wandering about near the mouth of the ravine you'll engage him in. As there's a good chance you'll need to dance around and the area is somewhat tight, backing out into the open is a natural tendency. Kruhljak (talk) 13:01, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
