Talk:Fractal Short Bow

This (and all the other fractal weapon pages) are in error. You don't get a specific weapon from those chests (in this case, short bow). You get a container that presumably contains a short bow. I say presumably because I can't figure out how to open the container. Both double-click and right-click followed by use get me to the preview page, and a message in red says "You cannot use this item."

Is there a separate page for the container? if so, that should be linked, either here or under the various chests (under the acquisition section). That page should explain how to open the darned things, so you can get the actual weapon. I would start a page, but since I don't know how to open the container, I'm hoping someone who has opened one of them can let me know.

The other thing is, since it seems to want to place the weapon directly into your hands, does that make it soulbound immediately? Daddicus (talk) 21:21, 21 June 2018 (UTC)

This is a consumable skin, not a weapon, so no it won’t be soul bound as far as I know. Also if I remember right, the skin I believe is automatically unlocked when you get it so really it’s only purpose is to make the gold fractal weapons I think? I do have the harpoon gun skin that I got from a daily chest, but I don’t really care for it so I’ve not done anything with it, so can test if needed. - Do_odleplex 22:24, 21 June 2018 (UTC)

I thought that might be the case (skin, not weapon). That would mean that the reason I can't consume it is because I don't have a shortbow in inventory (or equipped).

I can do the testing. I'll also make a note that it's a skin container, not a weapon container. That might help people who run into this issue like I did. I think I'll call it an anomaly, because other skin consumables I have say they're a skin.

They're sort of a remnant of the old system, before we got permanent wardrobe skins. They are skins, yes, but are not referred to as such, so I'll place that in notes. —Ventriloquist 09:11, 22 June 2018 (UTC)
