http://dulfy.net/2012/07/21/gw2-armor-previews/ this might help. Not mine. Armor and weapon from dungeons and cultural ones exclusive for each race. Might not be the prestige armors, but I suspect one or the other category to be in it, even if not both. # pieces[edit]

Does this actually mean that you only need a single piece to complete the achievement? And t1 will do as well?

T1 armor does indeed advance this achievement. -User Wizard Bihuq sig.jpg Wizard Bihuq 03:37, 9 September 2012 (UTC)
T1 armor does advance the achievement, but only once per section of armor regardless of armor type, ie. T1 armor will only advance the achievement 6 times. In order to cap the achievement, you need to buy a full set of every tier of armor. I suspect to get the title, you will require a full set of every tier from every race. --Duoprism 16:56, 24 September 2012 (UTC)
That's 780g... I hope they change that some time or there won't be many people with that at all... 87.195.101.155 20:07, 24 September 2012 (UTC)
It's not like getting a Legendary weapon is any cheaper anyway... I doubt they'll change it --Duoprism 10:50, 25 September 2012 (UTC)
They've already lowered the prices once since Beta. Used to be 1g/piece for tier 1, 10g/piece for tier 2 and 20g/piece for tier 3. I'm guessing they're okay with where the prices are at now. User Meagen Sig.png Meagen/talk 11:11, 22 October 2012 (UTC)

Acquisition[edit]

the acquisition can be found on the specific pages of cultural armor:

either someone links there, makes a short overview of the costs or delete that part. maybe adding a calculation for the tiers. if tier5 of The Emperor's New Wardrobe will mean that you need all tier armors from all races, that would be incredible expensive. 644 gold and 90 silver --MG127 13:35, 19 September 2012 (UTC)

note - one item per tier![edit]

You can't buy t1 cultural light boots and t1 cultural medium boots for achievements points - just wasted 34s this way. You need to buy 6 different t1 pieces, 6 different t2 pieces and 6 different t3 pieces. Drk 05:45, 27 September 2012 (UTC)

Just going to add to this, a few years after the post above. The "different" tier pieces apparently need to be different armor pieces as well. For example, buy tier 3 medium boots and tier 3 light boots, and you'll only get credit for one item. This was a costly misunderstanding for me, and there is nowhere that I can see that it's made clear. Nkuvu 05:18, 4 October 2014 (UTC)
Okay, so I can't get a full tier 1 set of light, medium, and heavy armor? Those are three different sets (different weights), but it won't count? Wow, I guess ANet thinks we're made of money. Tender WolfUser Tender Wolf sig.png 02:20, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

Cultural pieces can be vendored[edit]

The total cost of the cultural sets is noted in the main article, but I don't think it accounts for the fact that you can sell the pieces back to a vendor. Just to give an example, the Protector's Armor piece costs 30 Gold coin (or 15 Gold coin + 750 Badges of Honor) but you can sell the piece back to a vendor for Gold coin 75 Silver coin so the net cost is only 26 Gold coin 25 Silver coin (or 11 Gold coin 25 Silver coin + 750 Badges of Honor). --~Steven (talk) 17:42, 30 March 2022 (UTC)
