Wonder if it will still be there in Guild Wars 2. — ク Eloc 貢 16:12, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- I suspect it will be. It wasn't created by man, dwarf, asura or norn; that's basically most of the races gone. It was probably built by the gods or some other ancient race (as old as, or older than, the gods), so it will probably stand the test of time. -- pling | ggggg 16:24, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- Kind of a dumb question, as we know the HoM will be there. Lord Belar 21:07, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

- Arah was where the Gods were when they were on Tyria - now they are in the Rift or other worlds. The Giganticus Lupicus (aka Great Giants) are about the size of the building itself - about the size of the Elder Dragons for better comparison. Doubt either is the case.-- Konig/talk 01:19, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
- The Ancient Dragons built it before they went to sleep, now that they've awoken they wish to reclaim what was actually theirs. <-- Highly unlikely. I really think it was built by some kind of other race we have not seen before, the features of the HoM is to look in the future in forms of visions. Do note the cinematic when you enter HoM, Gwen says like 'he, nobody else has been able to do that' and then, 'just lucky i guess'. As told by our friend the Lich, our heroes from GW1 were chosen and tied to some kind of prophecy. But why was our hero able to operate the scrying device and no one else of the Ebon Vanguard? Because we were chosen by some prophecy, and I think that the Flameseeker Prophecies and the HoM are related, why beacause it was the only connection between those two things. The person or creature who created the prophecy (not Glint, she only told it), might also have created the HoM 80.60.80.108 22:37, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
- The Flameseeker Prophecies ended with the death of Khilbron - being Chosen (technically, it would seem that Canthan and Elonian characters are also Chosen, and by the timeline, those characters wouldn't have affected Prophecies lore) doesn't only have to deal with the flameseeker prophecies. In fact, it is not that the players are chosen because they will fulfill the flameseeker prophecies - but instead that they will fulfill the flameseeker prophecies because they are chosen. That is, the two don't have any connection in reality, but the prophecies stated that the ones to complete it would be chosen. I'd say the activation was just through good concentration, ascension (as in EN lore, the hero is Tyrian), or chosen. It could be any of those three. -- Konig/talk 22:55, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
- It is still highly unlikely that the scrying device was just activated by good concentration, the vanguard must have been there for some time and a lot of people must have looked at the device and concentrated, but still couldnt operate it. Our hero just walks in, looks at it for one moment and he says something like 'often these things are just a matter of good concentration', but he activates it in no time with his 'concentration'. The vanguard must have concentrated for a longer time than the hero but they got no reaction . Really, the hero MUST have had something special about him that made him able to operate the device, the reason may not be that he was chosen (Flameseeker Prophecies) but he must have had something that the others didnt have. 80.60.80.108 23:09, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
- Another possibility for activation is why or what the concentration is of. For instance, the vanguard would concentrate on the Charr most likely - why? For revenge, to kill them. The hero, on the other hand, concentrates on the Destroyers - why? To protect. The motive might be a possible explanation, or the subject of the pool. Or, as I said, ascension (i.e., having the gift of True Sight). -- Konig/talk 00:51, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- Yet it would seem that the scrying pool must have some form of consciousness to be able to sense what people would do with the information they could acquire. The pool was created by som form of life and thus programmed to only give information if - as you said - the motive is to defend or protect. New theory now, not about the ties to the hero but the use in GW2. Your new hero in GW2 will likely discover or recapture the Hall of Monuments from the dragon of ice, Jormag. As they search the room they find this pool and try to communicate with it, they key of defeating the dragons would lie here. This time to stop the Dragons instead of the Destroyers, the motive would be the same.

I reckon the HoM will only be used to link the achievements of GW1 characters to the account you hold in GW2. I don't think it will be linked to the storyline of GW2 in the same way as it was in EotN. Sinny | talk 07:54, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- It would seem that the Scrying Pool was very important to the storyline of GW1, and the device could be very important in GW2. They said that they made EotN a bridge between GW1 and GW2, so things that you see in EotN are actually a shadow of what they will use in their GW2 gameplay or storyline. I think the HoM and the Scrying Pool will be very important to the storyline of GW2. 80.60.80.108 13:15, 26 November 2009 (UTC)

Feedback 2020/03/18: HoM portal stone not for new version[edit]
Now that we have the Eye of the North with Aurene, it would maybe be good to add the info that the HoM portal stone takes to old version of HoM. Not to the new one with Aurene. For now, we have no way to travel directly to the new version of the location. --Tilu 08:33, 18 March 2020 (UTC)
