What does this skill even do? Just make the pet bigger so he will be a more effective meat shield? --Shibz 19:18, 29 September 2012 (UTC)
- I'd imagine that it has the same effect as Signet of the Wild's active effect: greater damage and stability. I wouldn't think that's particularly useful as a near-death effect, but hey, more giant bears. YoCzechIt 01:45, 1 October 2012 (UTC)
- It's a damage increase, not sure about the stability. The idea is that if the player gets downed, the now-stronger pet can finish off a foe and let you rally. Also, bears are poor pets overall. Vili 点 02:30, 1 October 2012 (UTC)
- What is poor about 5 seconds of no damage, AoE condition removal, and regeneration, and the highest health pet possible to have? On topic though, it grants stability and a damage increase, tested in Heart of the Mists against training npcs.192.168.104.82 09:41, 21 October 2012 (UTC)
- 5 seconds of no damage that you have no control over, condition removal on brown bear only (and why not use Healing Spring or Signet of Renewal or etc instead with an actually good pet), weak regeneration that you have no control over (can't get healing power on pets, could take Compassion Training but that's bad), and toughness is better than vitality on pets (or AI in general) because it's regular old damage that will kill them, not conditions. All that health doesn't do you any good if you can't heal it back up, anyway. The bear has no improved stats other than Vitality, although Polar Bear for some weird reason has slightly more power. That means it doesn't hit harder than other pets, it doesn't take less damage than other pets when Defy Pain isn't up, and it doesn't crit more often. Oh, and Defy Pain doesn't stop conditions or other dots that were already on the pet. If one chooses a bear other than the Brown Bear, the skills are still pretty mediocre. They aren't particularly better underwater either. Finally, other pets just have stronger skills - they do interesting, powerful, or unique things, whether it's knockdown, launch, blind, spam bleed, AoE damage... Vili 点 11:53, 21 October 2012 (UTC)

The duration is around 5 seconds and probably has an internal cooldown.24.74.72.237 07:12, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
