Simple Rules for Fighting the Assault Knights[edit]
People that need to read this will not do so, but I have to vent
1. When the knights health is between 100% and 70% and 50% to 20% all conditions inflicted on the knights are reflected back to anyone doing attacks that cause conditions. So be sure to be able to equip a weapon with a spammable (button 1) skill that does not cause condition damage for attacks during those periods:
- Engineer - Rifle
- Warrior - Axe, Hammer, Hammer or Mace
- Mesmer - Greatsword or Scepter
- Thief - Shortbow (not in stealth)
- Elementalist - Staff (Fire, Water, Air)l Scepter (Water, Air); Dagger (Fire, Air)
- Ranger - Greatsword, Longbow or Axe
- Necromancer - Staff or Dagger
- Guardian - Greatsword, Hammer, Staff, Mace, Scepter, Sword
2. During the periods that conditions will affect the knights, pile them on.
3. When the knight jumps, wait a fraction of a second then dodge. This way you will usually avoid being pulled into melee range and smashed.
4. When the knight jumps and the large orange circle appears, get out of it or get stability or you will be knocked down.
5. Resurrect downed characters if possible, getting their DPS back is worth losing yours during the short time it will take to get them up.
6. DON'T RESURRECT DEAD characters. The time that neither your nor their DPS is not available is not worth it.
7. FULLY DEAD characters waypoint, take 5 seconds to get healed while you are therwaypoint and run back.
8. Don't resurrect dead characters.
