Clarification needed regarding "clearing" tribulation mode

If last year I bought/leeched a trib run to get, let's say, King Toad Z-3, does it count toward clearing the three w1 levels to unlock this w1 boom box in Moto? I noticed that doing so didn't progress the achievement for Zone 03 of Glutton for Punishment.
So, what does "clearing" trib mode mean here exactly? Collecting at least 1 each of the 3 tokens (for forging skins)? Or getting the achievement complete? --118.101.122.5 11:07, 4 April 2017 (UTC)

Completing the three zones in trib mode is what should be necessary, though Anet does tend to use achievements for tracking purposes. I have a similar issue to you in that I have completed some trib modes last year, but my Glutton for Punishment track hasn't progressed at all. You may need to go back through W1-1 in addition to the other two zones. G R E E N E R 18:13, 7 April 2017 (UTC)

For it to be considered cleared, I'm thinking that you probably either need to hit all of the checkpoints in the zone(the regular ones, not the cloud checkpoints) or have take part in the boss fight at the end in tribulation mode. So if you bought the tokens last year by joining at the last second last year, it wouldn't be awarded, and rightfully so, you didn't complete any part of the zone. - Do_odleplex 19:05, 7 April 2017 (UTC)

After much pain and the fear of my poor computer hating me, I did Storm Top before completing Pain Cliffs in Tribulation Mode, and can safely report that simply doing the third zone will not unlock the Boom Box. Now if you need me, I'm going to go recover from the horror of that experience. My poor computer... X_x - Do_odleplex
