Talk:Dinky
He's a guardian? What happened to no charr NPC guardians? Ramei Arashi 19:34, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
- and where was that stated? as I've never heard of it before. --The Holy Dragons 19:38, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
- It's stated in Biography#Charr. Mediggo 19:44, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
- Yea I've known for ages that Dinky's a Guardian, I wanted to know where it was stated that there won't be Charr NPC Guardians. thx though --The Holy Dragons 19:49, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
- Ah, I see. Haven't heard anything about charr guardians myself, either. Except that their orientation to "proactive defense" does fit the charr as well as humans. Mediggo 19:52, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
- I vaguely remember, in a galaxy far far away, anet mentioning that npc's wouldn't be defined by the 8 player professions, like In gw1. I'll have to try and dig it up. --Moto Saxon 20:19, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
- Yes that's true but it doesn't mean there can't be NPC with one of the 8 professions.. --The Holy Dragons 20:20, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

(reset indent) You misunderstood the point. It's about "less Charr tend to be Guardian", not "no NPC Charr Guardian". There's also an Ele in the warband (and the NPC you meet after Fury of the Dead is dressed as a caster), despite the fact that Charr despise spellcasters. It doesn't mean they don't exist at all. Even if they don't like it, the Charr recognize a meteor shower or a ward are useful in battle. -Alarielle- 13:36, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
- Indeed THUS I wondered where Ramei got the No Charr NPC Guardians thing at :P --The Holy Dragons 14:24, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
- Well, they said something similar in an interview, but it was very poorly-worded, and could be misinterpreted as there being a firm "no charr guardian"/"no charr caster" policy. -Alarielle- 14:44, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
- It was in one of the interviews, they said there were no charr NPC guardians because charr were not big on defense. I guess they found a reason to change their minds. Ramei Arashi 20:40, 16 September 2011 (UTC)

(Reset indent) I'd like to make a minor correction...s. Jeff Grubb (or Eric) said in an interview shortly after the guardian's reveal that because the charr are not big on faith it would be very rare to find charr guardians, but for them their faith is the faith of their comrades, rather than of some deity. It has nothing to do with defense, in fact that's probably why they exist among the charr. It was worded weirdly and as such could of been and was by some interpreted as 'there are no charr NPCs, but charr PCs that are guardian.' In another interview later on, this was brought up again when the engineer was released saying that different races have different amounts of certain professions; necromancers being rare with norn, guardians with charr, etc. But it was never said 'there are none at all' for anything.
