Should a GW screenshot pf the mountains between Ascalon and the Crystal Desert be on this page to show where they would be?(at least until we get something better) Arcdash 23:29, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

Change

Look at this [1]. The two maps of tyria that were aparently taken before the EotN release show these mountains in the style of the pre-searing ascalon, while in the current map they are green. Did Anet polish the map for EotN, because they then knew how those Mountains will look like in GW2? 80.128.213.144 15:03, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Most likely. A lot of unused areas were changed and areas were added (such as that island to the north), they were still unused, but presumably they were added to make their inclusion in GW2 look like less of a retcon. --Santax (talk · contribs) 15:28, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

There are many differences between the first and second Tyria map, and more than things added to the north. The Maguuma looks more green when unexplored, the river was added north of the bigger Giant's Basin, mountains were added north of the Maguuma, the Blazeridge look less distinguished (less sharp for a mountainrange), the ice south of the Shiverpeaks was decreased (before, it went over the river northwest of the Crystal Desert, now it stops at the river) and more green was added around the Crystal Desert. Changes

The Blazeridge Mountains are the mountain range that separates Ascalon and the Crystal Desert. It lies and merges to the southeast of the Shiverpeak Mountains. There is only one known settlement in these mountains, the fortress of Ebonhawke.

According to the new map (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/File:Map_of_Tyria.gif), the Blazeridge Mountains are now completely to the east, so they are not separating Ascalon and the Crystal Desert, but Ascalon from the unnamed-zone (AFAIK) above Elona. So now they are not southeast of the Shiverpeak Mountains either. EDIT: forgot to sign. --217.129.133.230 17:49, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
