No, it actually is an item. When you buy it from the gem shop, you get sent an item called Bank Tab Expansion that you use, a swirl appears, and you get the extra bank slot. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 108.94.167.69 (talk).

Total number of bank tabs

"You can have up to 8 bank tabs on your account."

Purchasing

You don't actually have to go to a Banker character to purchase; going to any crafting station and opening up your bank and clicking on the little locked symbol in the bottom right brings up the purchase confirmation (assuming you have the neccessary gems first). 165.154.50.79 13:00, 23 October 2012 (UTC)
