Categorization[edit]

I categorized this as a environmental weapon as it is used to fight. Anzenketh 03:49, 8 September 2012 (UTC)

Image[edit]

It was during the airship scene in the Gamescom trailer (2011) that the depth of the artwork really hit me. I was amazed at how "realized" the world looked, as opposed to a repetitive textured world like some other games I've played. Anyway, guru has an image, it looks like a rendered concept piece [[1]], do we want to add it to flesh out the article? PixelMatt 16:51, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

I think it's safe to assume that these certain encounters are events. Mediggo 16:57, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
Ok, updated encounters to link to the events article and added a thumbnail of the airship render, hope that's ok. PixelMatt 17:25, 22 September 2011 (UTC)

What will they do with these?[edit]

I really hope they have at least one instanced story level kind of thing where you have to defend the ship from an airborne dragon attack, or do an air raid on an undead stronghold. 129.12.142.150 20:08, 19 October 2011 (UTC)

Hunter over at Hunter's Insight postulates that we'll use them to attack Orr, as sea routes are dangerous and that will likely be an important event in the personal story that they'll want to look "epic". Thunderduck 05:13, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

Gallery[edit]

With the new Eod coming over soon we have seen a new model or airship in the trailer. That made me thought if there are other models of these ships as well. We should consider a gallery of these ships. From red Aetherblades to blue pact ships. Small ones to big ones like the at Zhaitan final fight. --DiegoDeLaHouska (talk) 18:58, 23 February 2022 (UTC)

Gallery size[edit]

@Caeldom The gallery is maybe a little bit big, I think? Fixing up the mentions of aetherships to use the proper term is definitely a good change, and most of the images in the gallery should definitely be there (surprised they weren't already, to be honest), but the alternate angles for Havoc's Heir and for the Aerodrome airships don't really communicate anything new, imo? Fair enough if you want to keep them (I'm not going to edit the gallery either way, your decision), though I'd suggest moving the loading screens in with concept art if you want. Yeah I think it's a lot of images too but I figured somebody else would probably know some existing way to manage big galleries that I'm not aware of, or suggest a helpful way to subdivide (like via type/faction or something). I don't think any images should be omitted even if they depict the same airship, I do think it's appropriate to have any image that depicts an airship as one of its subjects be on the article, for the sake of collection/documentation. Eg. if an artist wanted to make custom art or models of airships, they would definitely come to the wiki to find all available angles they could get to model off, and probably other similar cases. Otherwise it's difficult or less convenient to go scavenging for the various images via search or articles.
And figured I'd at least collate everything in the one article first so it can be improved upon.
I do like the suggestion of moving the loading screens/release images with concept art, but then technically speaking, concept art is semantically different in that it doesn't necessarily depict what is exactly released with the game, whereas the loading screens and release images do. Especially with the 2 concept images currently there which don't actually show the current design of airships in the game.
I really hate long Talk page discussions lol so feel free to message me on the discord too. --Caeldom (talk) 02:53, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
