Talk:Aetherblade Retreat
Difficulty[edit]
I don't understand why they made the difficulty so high on this dungeon. I'm not going to say "it's too hard," just that the reward is not equal to the difficulty of completing this dungeon. The drops are not remarkable, and the overall actual money reward is around 1g 15s. Other dungeons that are much simpler have better drops and rewards, making them much more attractive to complete and repeat. Additionally, you can do every other achievement, while ignoring this dungeon, and still get 12/19 for the Mini reward. It's a terrible lot of trouble to complete and what awaits you at the end in rewards just isn't worth it. If the entire Frizz Lab portion didn't reset upon party wipe, but rather continued on the portion that you wiped on, just with monster hp regened that would help a lot. The previous section to kill the guards to get the gate open (Breach the Gate) does not reset upon wipe, and I think the Frizz portion shouldn't as well...just my two cents. Is this a multiplayer dungeon? This was not made clear anywhere and the previous LA events were singleplayer. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 178.84.95.212 (talk) at 17:31, 26 June 2013 (UTC).
- It is a 5 man dungeon.Spark GOLD "talk" 21:04, 26 June 2013 (UTC)
Map[edit]
Just added the map in its raw form from the game archive. This dungeon is underneath Tengu territory (the Dominion of Winds). God Of Fissures (talk) 21:12, 26 June 2013 (UTC)
- The Dominion of Winds doesn't start at the end of the LA map, so no it isn't. 92.234.202.30 19:29, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
- Yuki Honestcrest at the Shuttered Gate says otherwise. He states "This is our dwelling, the Dominion of Winds." which to me implies that anything past the gate is considered the Dominion of Winds. Aetherblade Retreat is past the Shuttered Gate but is underground. God Of Fissures (talk) 19:54, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
- entering the dungeon and putting a personal waypoint down shows the location as kryta, its more northern than the dominion of winds wall, so your saying where it ends is its location? it starts within the LA map so must be LA imo. Spark GOLD "talk" 21:24, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
- Here are some reference maps. Dominion Borders, GW1 imposed over GW2, GW1 D'Alessio Seaboard map and finally Aetherblade retreat. If you look closely, you can see that the dungeon is along that jagged bit of inaccessible(in GW1) coast next to Hakewood. Yuki Honestcrest might be guarding the road that leads to the Dominion, but if we go by the Ghosts of Ascolon boundaries, the Tengu city itself does not extend that far. At least the walls don't.
