There's a puzzle area on the west side of Desert Highlands, inside the crypt. I can't give specific directions, but look around for a mineshaft a little below the level you entered on (there should be some broken rail tracks). One of the tracks lead to a side passage in the wall that leads to a guessing game of picking 1 chest out of 2. The recipes are random drops from completing the game.
