Guild Wars 2 on Steam.

Steam is a video game distribution platform which ArenaNet has partnered with for the distribution of Guild Wars 2. The game was first purchasable through Steam on August 23, 2022, coinciding with the Guild Wars 2 10th Anniversary.

Release[edit]

Accounts purchased through Steam[edit]

Restrictions which apply to Steam accounts:[1][2]

  • Only accounts created via Steam can be used to log in to the game via Steam. Accounts created through the Guild Wars 2 website cannot be transferred there.
  • Account authentication from ArenaNet is not available for Steam accounts. Steam may have authentication options for Steam accounts.
  • Gem codes cannot be added to a Steam account in game or on the website.
  • Expansion game codes cannot be added to a Steam account. Expansions must be purchased via Steam.
  • Deluxe and Ultimate editions of expansions are not available on Steam. Steam does not offer any collections containing gems.
    • The "Deluxe Upgrade" package for each expansion can be bought in-game on the Gem Store. It is only available to players who have purchased the standard version of the corresponding expansion pack.
  • A Guild Wars account cannot be linked to a Guild Wars 2 Steam account. However, a Guild Wars account created via Steam can be linked to an ArenaNet Guild Wars 2 account.

Cloud gaming[edit]

All Steam players can play and stream the Steam version of Guild Wars 2 across their devices via GeForce NOW, NVIDIA's cloud gaming service.
