Dialogue[edit]
- Appreciate your help, outlander.
- I'm curious about the Sunspears.
- The least I can do is satisfy your curiosity, friend.
- Where did the Sunspears come from?
- We're all that remains of an ancient order dedicated to the defense of Elona. Once we could have fought back the Forged, Branded, and Awakened, but we've fallen as far as our Spearmarshal ascended.
- Ascended spearmarshal? You mean Kormir?
- Yes. She led us into battle during Nightfall and became our Goddess of Truth. In the Realm of Torment, Kormir lay down her mortality to save Tyria from the runaway power of the broken god Abaddon.
- Can I ask something else?
- Good luck to you.
- Good luck to you.
- Why are you on the run like this?
- Palawa Joko made pariahs of us when he conquered our nation. Those without shame swore allegiance to Joko and founded his Mordant Crescent, an order intent on converting or killing the last of us.
- What does it even mean to be a Sunspear, then?
- As long as one of us stands in defiance of Joko, he won't have defeated us completely. We may not be the force we once were, but we still do what we can to protect innocents in Kormir's name.
- Can I ask something else?
- Good luck to you.
- Good luck to you.
- Good luck to you.
- Good luck to you.
- To start Defend Second Spear Nayrim against Mordant Crescent and Awakened attacks
- Looks as if the Mordant Crescent have caught up with me again.
- I'll stand with you against them.
- Good luck to you.
- To start Escort Second Spear Nayrim to potential shelter
- I don't want to put innocent lives in any further danger from the Mordant Crescent, but I could use some cover until I can reach my hideout in the desert.
- I can see you there.
- Have you been to the Sunspear sanctuary in Vabbi?
- I was searching for it with a friend before we were separated. Is the sanctuary actually real?
- It's not much to look at yet, but it's real.
- I'd love to see it for myself someday, if I can ever lose the Mordant Crescent.
- I can help you deal with the Mordant Crescent, at least.
- Good luck to you.
- Yes, but I need to keep moving. Good luck.
- Good luck to you.
- In the Sunspear Sanctuary
- So, we've both come far since we first met.
- You came all the way back.
- When I heard about this place, I had hope that Kitur might still live. I had to come and see for myself.
- What about the Mordant Crescent?
- Thanks to you, I gave them the slip long enough to double back and make the long return trek to Vabbi.
- Any signs of pursuit?
- When I passed through Makali Outpost, I asked the cavaliers to help cover my tracks. They planted evidence and leaked misinformation so it seemed I was still headed north.
- What's the plan now?
- Kitur wants to rebuild the Sunspears, starting with the cadets he saw at that academy. I haven't seen him like this in years. He's hopeful. Possibly delusional...but I appreciate his optimism!
- There's something else I wanted to talk about.
- Sorry, I need to be going.
- Sorry, I need to be going.
- Sorry, I need to be going.
- I see you and Kitur have reunited.
- Yes! I should never have left without him. The things he had to endure...a man with more sense would've lost his mind.
- Why did you leave?
- I had half a dozen refugees counting on me to get them through the Desolation. If I had lingered for even a day, they might have died.
- Where are the refugees now?
- Some had distant relatives in the Bonestrand and Palawa's Grace. Others disappeared into Amnoon. I dropped off the last in Kweli before venturing into the Highlands.
- You saved their lives.
- They deserved no less. If our roles where reversed, Kitur would've done the same. We're Sunspears. We give our lives to protect the people.
- There's something else I wanted to talk about.
- Sorry, I need to be going.
- Sorry, I need to be going.
- Sorry, I need to be going.
- Sorry, I need to be going.
- What do you think about this place?
- The griffons are captivating! So regal. There's real intelligence in their eyes.
- Have you flown on one yet?
- Not yet, but I'm eager to try. The advantage they'd bring over Joko and the Awakened is intriguing. And I'll be honest, I just want to know what it's like to soar through the sky!
- And what of the spearmarshal?
- I'm no historian, but I'm beginning to piece together who she was in life. It's an honor to have this opportunity to know her.
- There's something else I wanted to talk about.
